    Well "as is par for the course" Australia will only get 2 colours. Grey and maroon (I mean cherry red...) ;)

    Yup, good service is essential.
    To be honest, I hadn't a clue about this new model so I will take some time and research it. I AM curious how it compares to the Triumph.

    It doesn't.

    It may have it's place, as has been described thru this thread, but it isn't an adventure bike, and doesn't belong in the same category as the Tiger, especially the XC.

    The title says naked adventure.....then it's some bastardized VFR.

    You gotta have large brass balls, or be Marc Coma, to take that bike offroad....mud or sand would be memorable.

    I say to each his own. Most people think my 5th gen is either to big and slow for a sportbike or to sporty for an tourer. I love it, more every ride. Crossrunner owners welcome to the group.

    By the way my 2nd gen is for sale.

    I don't know about how they use Adventure bikes in the U.S.A. but in the UK the roughest terain that the majority of them see is the speed humps in the supermarket car park :)

    I hope he does. Otherwise I will have to go and sit on one, pump the levers, twist the throttle, make bike noises and submit a complete report before somebody else beats me to it.

    Honda was likely noticing how many riders add taller windshields, after market seats and handlebar risers to their VFR's...

    I think this bike could be better. It is as if they took it out the oven too soon. Then again, maybe it was a good way to test the waters. If there is a next generation of this machine, it will be more of an adventure bike than this one.

    The peanut gallery of about six months ago was cryin the blues about the 1200s in general, the gist of which was that it was a POS and what Honda needed to do was stuff the engine in another type bike with a fart proof seat (just kidding) a 30 gallon gas tank and a small microwave for keepin thier Jo jo's hot between stops.

    Now they got it and the whining continues.

    IMO what might cause the nay sayers to turn the corner are OEM training wheels and the large economy size of Beano.

    The Crossrunner has the V-4 1200 engine? I thought we talking about the Crossrunner 800, which is the same-old-same-old 6th Gen 100 HP engine and 6th Gen chassis with the same sub-standard suspension that I junked - but with a fart-proof seat and upright riding position. ;)

    The point is, I know exactly how this bike rides and performs. It is virtually identical to my 6th Gen in stock form, but with a different seating position and plastic panels. Not that that is necessarily a bad thing.

    Good call. That was not the clearest of posts. I agree on the suspension. Back in the day when I bought my 91 the monoshock was pretty much gone in just a few miles and at the time were not rebuildable.

    I understand the market is shifting towards the dual purpose bikes. I have not ridden an 800 Crossrunner but have put a few miles on one of the big boxers. For dirt, IMO, a 250 is about right for having fun. Or maybe one of those 700 cc thumpers

    Fartproof seats should be an industry standard IMO..

    Im just going to go ahead and not give a shit about this bike, just like I didnt give a shit about the VFR 1200, then do an in depth give-a-shit analysis so that Im comparing apples to apples and be assured of capturing any outliers, in the interest of fairness. Sure, Honda will cry and stamp their feet that I didnt buy one, but thats the only way they'll ever learn.

    I'll get back to you with the results. Unless you dont give a shit, in which case, go ahead, buy one, see if I care.

    Honda apathy, like all things Honda, is the best out there.

    Yes my new Crossrunner has the 800 engine. The 1200 engine may be used in the Crosstour if it actually goes into production.
    Regardless to what some of you guys might say about it I like the Crossrunner which suits my purposes. It is also more comfortable for my dodgy left knee compared with the 1200DCT which I'm trading in.
    Whilst I'm always interested in other peoples opinions of bikes I don't let them influance me. As they say You pays your money and you takes your choice or as I tols a guy on another forum who told me I was idiot who knew nothing about bikes. You sign the cheque for my next bike and you can pick the model"
