Hi, picked up my brand new bike yesterday.
    2 Questions.
    1) What does TC do?
    2) What is the best way to brake using this ABS system. Thanks IMG_5484.JPG

    Congrats on your new toy!
With the TC switch on, ecu senses the spin of the rear wheel and compares it to your speed. If the wheel spins, engine pauses monetary to allow to regain control. Only had mine kick in a couple of times. I have had to use the ABS a number of times when drivers or deer encroached in my space, worked as designed. To use just jump on the brakes as hard as you can and don’t pump the brakes, the bike will do all the work. Saved my ass several times.

You are welcome. My advice on the ABS was for panic situations, otherwise just use them normally.

    +1

The TC’s saved my ass a couple of times pulling away on loose gravel and woodchips

The ABS is great, you just come to a very swift panic free halt, no pulsing or other signs ...much better than the BMW I had

If you want to try this stuff out find a dirt parking lot.
And try to spin the rear wheel, work up throttle from a stop slowly with TC on and TC off. You'll see the difference if you can get the rear wheel to slip without tC and won't slip with.

Same with ABS, on the dirt slowly at first work you way to hitting the rear brake. Until the wheel slides slowly and see what the ABS does. (again take it slow you can do this on the pavement too but dirt the same effects happen at much slower speeds).

Again this is just a see what it feels like. At speed on pavement the effects with be much more pronounced.

    (have fun)

I definitely do not make any claims as to engineering prowess... but the stock can is butt ugly. Also if they were that good, aftermarket cans wouldn't sell as much as they do.

Mmm... I don't think the aftermarket, be it exhausts, seats, mirrors, screens, name it and you have it, is driven by the quest for quality...

Hi and welcome to the MadHouse.

Its great to see another happy Dobles customer.

Fingers crossed you will never need to test the ABS but now the clocks have gone back and its dark by 6pm it seems some drivers are too much in a rush to get home and fail to check it is safe to pull out - so take care and enjoy your new ride.

First service done yesterday at First Line Motorcycles, North London.
Genuine Honda rear hugger was fitted too as the exhaust pipe cops LOADS of spray from the back tyre.
I’m really enjoying this bike, the engine is superb and the general build quality and fit and finish is great. Proper old school Honda.
In comparison to my last bike, a 2018 Africa Twin, it’s less comfy around town, more focused everywhere else, with a comfortable sports riding position.
It handles good, once the preload is upped on the rear suspension, it feels nicer on fast roads as the riding position suits high speed travel. I will probably order the bar risers to see if they make it comfier in town but....
All in all I really love the VFR!
