What temps are you running? That is what my mpg problem was...a stuck thermostat. Also had a mouse nest in the air box!

75- 95c on the 'highway' dependant on traffic. Fan switches on as expected at 104ish. Runs great, but yet to have a look in the airbox. (I'll get a filter tomorrow).

Those temps are good. Cooling system, working. I really doubt the air filter can be restricted.

I commute 55 miles one way. First 45 miles are 60-70 mph with maybe 5 stoplights that I may or may not catch. Last 10 miles are in traffic ranging from 60-0 mph and moderate to heavy stop and go depending on said traffic (reverse for the ride home). I am getting a pretty consistent 44mpg.

Yeah, the very best I have ever gotten out of my bike was one day with a strong tailwind, mostly freeway but some city. I got 41 MPG. I don't know how in the Hello you guys are getting the mileage you say you are, because my commuting average was 38 and that was about 100 miles a day with 98% of that on the freeway. Temps are good, but I'll watch it closer now that I have gutted the exhaust which seems to have it running cooler. Tire pressure is 36/38 front/rear, Pilot Road 3 tires. My weight and height may have something to do with it as I am 6'2" and about 280. Thank God I am tall-ish, otherwise I would be round!

I do get on it a little every ride, but I'll tell you, running the canyons up here with my friends, I am averaging 29mpg. 10% Ethanol and 87 octane. Highest grade here in California is 92, but I have never noticed a difference in mileage.

:bandito:I can get all most 50 mph at 3500 rpm going just fast enough not to lug the engine-in sink hole roads.

Ok, today I rode a total of 180 miles. Filled up at Costco Simi Valley California and rode to the AutoClub Raceway to watch practice and qual for the Geico suprbike shootout. (Side note, those professional riders are freaking quick!) Did very little street riding and it was freeways about 70-80mph and mostly riding easy, but a few little adventurous throttle applications. Rode home and filled up at the same Costco. I got about 39.6 mpg. I did initially fill up with 92 octane, but tonight I filled up again with 87 per the manual.

I have a 5th gen & just filled up this morning after a long ride through the mountains of VA yesterday. Got 45.6 mpg. Included some very spirited riding through twisties with a few straightaway blasts up to 120 mph.

    Whatever my fuelly badge says.

Get low 40's on long, non-stop trips.
Get mid 30's during my daily stop-and-go commute in town.

    Pretty much on par.

Lint, I'm 6'0" and 185. Cold weather, 37-40, in part probably because of warmups before starting off; rest of the time, 40-43 in-town and 45 and up(depending on wind) on highway. However it works, I like it.

I've never hit the 'blinky light means TANK UP!' point, but I can generally cover ~200 miles highway without worry.

Typically get 38-42mpg, with the 38 in cooler spring/fall weather and 42 in summer weather. Cruising at 80+mph on a long highway trip, just got 46mpg.

I say again: The important thing is how much tread is left on your tire. Sheesh, frigging worrying about gas mileage...

I get about 40-43 MPG during my commute and while I don't really worry about it, I'm pleased...

:ninja::brick:4500-6100 rpm is the best place for gas mileage- but not much fun for riding! When my tank is low-I go slow-Dum!
