You will have to remove the grab rails with the top case. The top case rack has grab rails built in them..

Got them on this past weekend and very impressed with the fit and finish. Wish they opened from the top though. Came with 8 keys which seemed strange, and what's the extra lock cylinder for? Just in case one gets broke?

That sounds about right. I got the extra cylinder and at least 6 extra keys with mine.

I think the extra lock cylinder is so that you can match the locks on the bags. I bet they have different keys for each case...I didn't see an extra lock cylinder with mine although I do think there were at least 4 keys.......

I thought the same at first, but both bags take the same key.

The multiple keys WILL pay off, as they are kinda cheap metal and break easily. The extra cylinder is for the dreaded top box, so that you can have all three containers keyed alike. But don't buy the top box, as they are ugly and completely at odds with your bike's design.

That makes sense. Not planning on buying the top box as to me it looks like it belongs on a goldwing.

I don't agree with you here. If you travel a lot, it comes very handy. Actually even for local commuting. I use my bike as a grocery getter sometimes and I use the top box to store my helmet. It is not that expensive from David silverspare..

ok, I was thinking of getting the top box because it also acts as a backrest for passengers on long trips. I went through my cases and found six keys, extra reflectors, but no extra lock cylinder....darn!

Many thanks to the OP!!! I bought the saddlebags from the UK store (didn't realize they had a US branch!) late last year based on his tip and installed them today. An incredible deal, even more so now with domestic shipping and no currency exchange fees.

The infuriating instructions that came with the bags have all sorts of minor errors and seem to be printed in economy mode. A bit of Googling for VFR luggage installation was very helpful. I eliminated the plastic fender but installed as many parts as possible to keep things in their original position. The beefy rear fender bracket is gray-green and could use some paint. Feel free to PM me for any advice or pics.

The saddlebags have been great so far, I'm going to ride much more now that the VFR is a soccer-mom grocery-getter.
