I too would like to believe those at Honda knew what they where doing , no doubt they did. Just sad to say the VFR wasn't set up to be a CBR competitor after the RC45 era, it kinda fell of the grid, so pretty sure those at Honda just made do. There's a lot of little things Honda decided it wasn't worth it, even though they have had the parts on the self, cough cough suspension for one.

Yeah it does make me sad that the vfr doesn't get the attention it deserves. If the rumours about Honda's upcoming v4 superbike are true and it's cheaper than an Aprilia RSV V4 I'll buy it in a heartbeat!

I might hold off on velocity stacks till the dyno, see if there are any holes in the powerband.

^ what I'd do. I have it to do as well, thing is as it goes I keep adding things, in that I wouldn't know what gains or not with what, that and none are simple plug and play, taking the air box off playing around, putting it back could take all day then there's the dyno tom foolery. LOL I need a dyno in the garage. ain't this fun ;)

Sadly no rapid bike tuner near me as far as I know, might be able to get it dynoed to check power though, would be interesting to see what gains it gets with the standard map..

Finally got the brakes bled, took forever, ended up using a homemade vacuum bleeder made out of a plastic bottle

Also got the steering lock working which is awesome, had to grind down the steering stops a few mm but works great!

And finally got a set of rim decals all the way from Bulgaria, quality is great, well worth the wait on international shipping.

Sadly it always seems two steps forward one step backwards, I've had some electrical gremlins pop up :(

Occasionally the right headlight will shut off while the left is still active, the indicators also take a while to come on, almost as though they are "warming up"... weird

Nice touch there with the wheel decals. I'm normally not a fan, but these work, ;) must be the white rim thing huh.

I've regained access to the bike, what should I be checking re the turn signals?

    EDIT:

Just to add some more info, I took apart the turn signal switch and cleaned it, no change. The turn relay ticks fine but the indicator doesn't come on, seems to mainly affect the left hand side.

Well I took her out for a short ride today, battery died in about 50 metres...

Think I figured out where my electrical issues were coming from :p

Swapped in my other bikes battery and she started like a champ, solved the indicator and headlight issue too so looks like a new battery is on the to do list

But what rr and stator are you using? And did you actually test them?

Still the OEM ones, haven't re tested them yet but will do once I have the tail mounted up. Nice thing about the cbr tail is I can mount the reg/rec behind one of the vent hole for nice cooling.

Your mounting strategy for the CBR sub is awesome. Can't wait to see what it looks like when welded and painted.

Thanks! It honestly mounted up far better than I ever could have imagined, biggest challenge will be connecting up the vfr headers to the CBR undertail exhaust.
