Not a real big trip, but for a Midwesterner the scenery was really nice...

It was about 40 degrees out when I stopped by this field for a picture.

    Rode through Lowden/Miller State Park.

A nice newly paved road with a hint of fall color in the trees.

I stopped by the river in Dixon, IL.

Stop at Castle Rock State Park.

I'm noticing more wind power here in Illinois.

Some weird "humps" in Cherry, IL where everything else is flat.

It was a nice 350 mile ride, and with winter coming soon I really enjoyed the fall colors.

I actually rode down there and through the park on 71 and yes it is finally open! It was really nice - not a single car the whole ride through, and the bridge work they did looks great.

reminds me of home. nice ride. thanks for the pics. I'll try and post up some from around here before too long. I haven't been riding as much as usual. I think I have done less than 1000 miles this month.

Those humps outside of Cherry, Illinois are remnants of the coal mines that were there.

You rode thru some really nice scenery.

if you make this run again, need to go thru the Pallisades Park, in IL just south of Dubuque IA & Galena IL. Nice views, and the road down to Moline\East Moline is a decent ride.
