WOW! This is a perfect video with excellent info so far. Never thought to spray Pam on the moto for easier clean up.

I've only gotten through the first quarter. So far this gives me inspiration that I'll be fine, I'll meet people along the way, that I'm not the only one to just pull off on side of road to camp, and that if a Harley can do it I can do it.

" Maybe if you are around the first of June about, you can help me find a place to swap tires for knobbies. I'd be back 8-10 days later to swap out again for streets. "
Buddy & I do our own Tire Changes, so can be done easy, No Waiting and No Charge,,.. well, actually, there will be a Cost,,..
You'll have to tell us Scary Motorcycle Stories at Dinner (Story Embellishment Encouraged).
You'll have to stay more than 15hrs this time.

" If there's any life left in the knobbies, you can have them. Only if you promise to use them on one of your motos and ride The Tuk for me and let me know how it is. ;) "
Haven't been up The Dempster yet, or to the Univeristy of Tuktoyuktuk (TUK-U), so thats possible.

" Anyhoo, yeah, AirBnB that trailer...you could make a killing!! It's super nice and you are super hosts! "
I'll have to see what the Going Rates are.

    " We'll keep in touch. "

Yeah I figured you would enjoy the little tid bits and narration of that video. I enjoyed the hell out of it, and I don't think I'll ever make an Alaska run. I know you'll have a great time, your a road warrior...

Wow, VF1000fe!! She looks like she is having a blast!
So jelly...look at all that snow! And not just snow in plains...you live in an amazing place! I should really get upnthere sometime to enjoy the winter offerings!

I can definitely swing some scary moto stories and will probably wanna stay a couple nights and rest up a bit before sacrificing myself to the wilderness. Haha

My people will definitely be calling yours.

You all keep having some fun in that winter wonderland for me!

Lolzzz, come, meet me in Yukon!

I'm actually hoping I meet up with other riders for the leg to AK and back again. I'm hoping there will be plenty on the roads then.

If you look anything like that kitty, make yourself visible! I'll fit you in my riding jacket. :)

I'll get there in back. Hopefully with moto and me in one piece. :triumphant:

Did you watch them all? You see Tracy break down at the end emotionally? Crazy stuff. What an epic trip.

Just thought of something, in the middle of the night,,.. ("DANGER!, Will Robinson!,,..")
My old Climbing Buddy, in Terrace,BC has been bugging me to come visit.
We could ride together, from Calgary, stay at his place,,..
His 2 boys are grow'd up and moved out,,.. plenty of room.
Next day you would backtrack 1hr, to Kitwanga and take #37 North to Watson Lake, solo.
I've been as far north as Haines JCT, but not up #37 (The Cassiar Hwy).
Google Street View says its mostly paved, and the gravel parts look pretty easy.

    You do your Midnight Sun thing (be wary of the Alaska State Bird);

We can meet on the way back, or not.
Buddy & I have to finalize some plans to climb in The Parks next summer.
It will be 150yr Celebration of Kanada, so Admission to The Parks is Free, it will also be a Zoo from Calgary to Jasper.
He has some peaks to knock off, & I wanna do Snow Dome, near the Athabasca Glacier (Hydrostatic Center of North America).
If you Piddle there, it (eventually) drains into 3 different oceans (Don't need much of an excuse to climb).
And it takes 3 Dopes on a Rope to traverse Glaciers safely, still need another Dope.

And then there is the Total Eclipse of The Sun, in Eastern Oregon, in mid August,,..
Its gonna be a Busy Summer.

Really though...hoping to hear from more who've done this run. I'll post my route map up. Maybe people have done parts and can give input.

Holy Canuck! Just look at your summer! And to work me in is awesome, thank you!

I like your thinking! Let's plan on it...woot!!!!

I'll email a route sometime soon with estimated days I'd be up there and see what works into plans.

Geeze that mosquito sign is about right on. I watched the videos posted here. The 56 minute video...those skeeter were huge.

I had a taste of them in Maine and New Brunswick, but they didn't get me. ;)

    100% deet.

Not knocking the Spot or anything but there are a few limitations of these type devices you might want to be aware of. See below and also read the one about Beemerless Bob and his experience. Not that the Spot failed or anything but lack of service area, emergency departments not equipped with newest technology etc. especially if you are in the more remote areas. Just something to be aware of.

Thank you!!!! Thank you for sharing this comprehensive write up.

Having communication with someone when in a jam keeps me going. I can't imagine how helpful communication would be if I or someone else I came across was hurt.

The Delorme inReach seems more attractive for that reason alone. Plus being able to only have active paid service when using it will save money in the long run.

    I'll check out the Fleabays.

You're welcome. Just to be clear, I was not trying to discourage you from the Spot and I did not write either of these threads/posts etc. I know nothing about these devices. I saw the one article on the review of the two while looking for the thread by Beemerless Bob and thought it might be of interest but really wanted you to read about Beemerless Bob and him not being able to get help because he was in remote area, police/emergency did not have same technology or up-to-date technology etc. I had read this months ago (actually in response to Scubalong using the Spot device on his trip to Alaska) and just thought it brought up some things people may have never considered. Enough rambling so hope you find what you are looking for. I will be one of those following along your trip and living vicariously through you. Good luck.
