I'm guessing the point of that statement was a bit more along the lines of commercialism vs. viewership; e.g., if you're only attending one race this year, would it be GP or WSBK? Or if you're buying a jersey or calendar or something, which series? Etc.

My wife used to actually use that line, as she follows them by her favorite racers; i.e. Rossi or Nicky = GP, Haga = WSBK, and Tommy = AMASBK. Now that she's finally gotten a bit of a handle on those three, I seriously started watching Moto2, WSS and Daytona Sportbike this last couple years (thanks to the mighty DVR), really confusing the crap outta her. Now I'll be adding Moto3... I think it'll take another 5 years for her to get those down...

I agree, The Duc was trimmed for Nicky, but still he crashed 17 times, (races and practice), I think Casey had the same number of tarmac contact

Yeah, He's a hell of rider, GP2 is a different ball game than Supersport 600. The machine and team plays a major part.

As a complete side note; WSS has lost their only "Factory" Triumph team, as the company and the BE1 team could not agree on a contract... BE1 will be fielding two year old, used factory Yamaha's, and the Suriano Racing team doesn't get cool new 675R's that "Triumph was looking forward to fielding with BE1"; oh no, they get BE1's used bikes from last year...

I'm all kinds of pissed about this; I was looking forward to Chaz Davis (whom I adopted as an "American rider", after his stint in the states) on a new 675R pushing for a championship (finished 4th last year)... I wish him luck on his used Yamaha, and shame on Trumpet for screwing everyone around like that...

My prediction is this will be a great year for MotoGP racing.

Stoner back on Honda will be exciting to watch and will be looking to spank his arch enemy and Team mate Pedrobot every chance he gets.

Rossi with his trusted JB may take 1/2 a season ( or less ) to get to get the Duc progressively to the pointy end but I'm quite sure he will, don't forget Ducati pulled out of WSBK to show how serious they are about funding their MotoGP Team.

Lorenzo will do his best to consistently dominate like he did Gold "Chuppa Chup" days and Spies has shown true talent in his Rookie year at times staying in touch with the Aliens on his "private" M1 so am looking forward to see what he can do on the factory one.

pedrosa quickest after the first day of testing at sepang.....no wait...it's the "other" honda ;)

alvaro bautista might be coming around with the suzuki, showed moments at the end of last year, as did simoncelli on the hondog. rossi 12th quick, injury is starting to look worse than we've been led to believe.....day two coming!

is it just me, or does stoner look too big for that bike? didn't I hear someone say earlier that they were going to adjust the bike more to his size and wasn't that one of nicky's many gripes when he couldn't seem to make the bike run as fast as the little guy?

Casey isn't a big guy, but Pedrosa is tiny, Nicky ain't that big either, Rossi and Spies and Simoncelli all about 6 feet. and weight est: 68-72 kg I just read that Pedrosa tips the scale at 48 kg

So the results are a bit different today.
3 Hondas in the top five, I like that.

I wouldn't start giving out trophies just yet. Definately a favorite, though.

I'm waiting for the fantasy racing league to start up.........I have some good ideas to start the season.
