    Dirty Dealershit

Don't be tricked by the Dealer (Liar?) saying that they are demo or promo bikes! Bullshit! If it has been ridden by a magazine, or used in a test fleet, it'll be sold as a used motorcycle. That Dealer is a downright liar! Imagine buying a "brand new" bike then realizing that it has 2800 miles on it and the serial number happens to match the one in Cycle World! Geez, that'd go over well at Honda in Japan. He is doing anything he can to suck you in. Some Dealers just won't sell their bikes cheap. Some Dealers also say, "If I can sell 10 bikes for a $500.00 profit, it's better than selling two at a $2000.00 profit on each". They then have happy Customer's to sell service to, accessories, etc.. Tell that Dealer what you are getting the bike for and tell them to BEAT the price or lose the sale! I no longer reward businesses for merely matching the price. I'll reward the Business that took the effort to offer that good price in the first place. Also, you'll always do better to sell your used bike on your own. Again, you can sell it for probably $500.00 to $1000.00 cheaper than you were thinking it's worth and still break even. Or the $500-$1000.00 is what you'll lose trading it in. Minimum.:mad-new:

Yes. Dealers are almost always discounting to some degree if you're willing to walk out.....and to people that know how to negotiate. And the 2016's are not out anywhere I know of. What's wrong with a 2014 if you want a new one?

What is considered "new" may vary from state to state. Most states consider a vehicle that hasn't been titled or registered as new. There is a mileage limit as well but again that can vary by state. Any dlr that doesn't disclose a demo model as such really doesn't deserve anyones time or business.

There's probably a federal standard as well.

I wasn't doubting or questioning what you said per say. I was questioning what the dlr in CO told you. They may have been stretching the truth to some degree. Or as GT750 puts it "they're lying".

You mentioned the bike you test rode had 6 miles on it. How'd it go, what did you think of the bike?

Here is what I rode. It was everything I expected, as I was a Honda ST1100 rider for almost 20 years.

Heli risers or the Honda riser might be in store for me if I go VFR, as well as the Givi +3 windscreen.

Am wanting panniers and wondering whether to go Givi 35 or the Honda OEM. The Honda bags have a little less volume but are color matched.

The oem bags also lock onto the bike without any extra hardwear, unlike aftermarket.

I paid 12,4 for a '15 DLX this week, including freight and setup. Dealer invoice is 11,5. Hope this helps.

I bought my 2015 VFR800F last week in Montreal for 10500 Can$ . Honda is not be selling 2016 VFR800 in Canada and I would bet there will not be any 2017 either....

Now if I could find the panniers I would be very happy. They are backorder everywhere I checked, in Canada or in the Us.... 20160802_153332.jpg

I also managed $8499 for a 2014 DLX. I might have been able to do better. But, I wasn't in the mood to haggle.

I need to look, but on that VFR page on Facebook, someone posted a list of all the warehoused leftover bikes and it's on the Honda webpage, not a dealer page. Gimme a minute.

Dealers in MD, WI, OH, and NC are starting to drop the DLX models down to about 8999 and 7999 for the base model.

There are two Honda dealers in the country discounting heavily every day they're open.

It's not a DLX but you'll be happy to know that it DID cause a HUGH argument when I told my family how great the price was. Progressive settlement from the Aug 2nd accident, was $11,200 so even after I put the pipes, risers, screen and center-stand back on it, I'd still have a big ass chunk of change left over or get TWO just in case I have another accident. :loyal:
