I am not very good at negotiating price. My out the door price for 2014 red DLX was 10,720.93. I bought mine yesterday 11/4.
That includes $310 shipping. So, I guess if I was local the price would have been $10,410.93.

I don't think telling hwyix he got hosed is really correct. that cycle trader link is for socal. I can tell you now, in norcal, the going price for DLX is 12-13,000 before fees. I've flown down to socal in the past to buy a bike just for the price, my god daughter live there at the time so it wasn't a wasted trip. I'm not sure where hwyix is from but if the price for the bike within the same state varies by 2-3000 bucks, you'd really have to see what his regional price is to determine if he got hosed or not. for 10,700 otd locally, I'd probably already have done the deal.

Not too bad of a deal

Not too bad. I paid $11,300 for DLX out the door in California but I got the 2 side bags too. Basically at dealer cost.

    Reviving this thread.

Many of you listed what seems to be the dealer price without fees and tax.

What is your OUT THE DOOR cost that you paid for your Deluxe model? Looking to see what a good price range is. Would be awesome if you could reply.

    Thanks

Anything a dealer or a salesman selling vehicles unless in writing tells ya, doesn't have to be the truth. As a buyer you are on their turf. They do this day after day, year after year and "we" do it maybe 3-4-5 times in a lifetime. Yeah, I know..somebody oot there has done it 8,000 times and has an anecdote that fits..

Even taxes don't count in all cases..Oregon has no sales tax.

Anybody that pays MSRP on a bike is a sucker..

If anybody really wants to see how all this goes down, walk into a HD shop and tell the sales dude you have any bike your imagination can create as a trade in and you want to buy this or that HD. The first thing they will try to sell is a tube of HD/KY jelly. The next move is into the sales office where the sawhorses are stored.

The image that should be IMO in your mind is the flick where it looks like Steve McQueen jumping the fence of the concentration camp.

April 2016, $7987 2014 DLX, $648 setup and freight, $186 Doc fees for total 8821 OTD. Illinois tax $551, $136 title and license total to ride was $9508. Have no regrets sold a nice 5th gen to a friend. 2014 was bought in Wisconsin. Hope this helps.

The gag was actually done by Bud Ekins. McQueen was probably up for doing it himself but the powers that wuz said no. There's footage of McQueen racing in Tecate, BC where he is moving right along and really riding.

I just got an email from my dealer (Fay Myers in Aurora, CO, USA) advertising some sale prices. One of them is an 8th gen DLX for $7799.00...

    Here it is... http://www.faymyers.com/Motorcycles...llage-CO-6f7b27ab-d6ed-4c12-b1dc-a6a50141118b

2 years and 4 months ago, I paid $12999.00 for my Deluxe....as much as I like it, I'm not sure the extra 2 years and 17k miles of fun is worth $5200!! Kinda wish I had waited at least a year and only paid $9k or 10k...wouldn't hurt quite as bad to see this now.
