I've been using mine now for almost 2 months - stellar!!

I commute 45 mins to work on the highway every morning - never a gain will I go without a throttle lock.

The unit is quality and holding up just fine. Money well spent if you ask me.

Never used those before so I cannot compare. It's a permanent installation compared to the other types, but you can move it to another bike easy enough if you so choose.

No fiddling with the mechanism, press the button, take your hand off and you're cruisin'!

duccmann posted the photos of my installation that I sent him for your convenience. :)

note that I moved the grip in closer to the mechanism afterwards, I pulled it out a bit so that you could see the lock mounted.

I don't think you'll find it for less right now - it's just fresh off the Kickstarter campaign. I suppose you could check with the owner (David Winters) if it's going to retailers, and if so, which ones?

Maybe if there was enough guys, he'd do a bulk deal for you all?

Shouldn't matter the generation ... the way it is designed it should work with any bike. It fit my 6th gen perfectly.

I just ordered a new one as my previous one is still on my totaled bike somewhere in Wisconsin. I couldn't imagine not owning one now ...

While that is true I wanted to see how someone installed this if they own a 8th gen deluxe with heated grips.

It only installs one way ... between the grip and the control housing.

If you want to post me a few decent photos of gap between your grip and control housing from the front, back, top and bottom ... I could easily tell you how well it will fit. I suspect my install was a bit more fiddly due to the wires coming out of my Oxford Heaterz ... but it still fit perfectly in the end.

Thanks! I imagine that I am going to have rotate my grips bc of wire. May try to install this item over the weekend.

Need to install the +1.5qt thin line sump on the Karmann Ghia first and get the engine back in

I thought I was going to have to rotate my grips as well, in the end I didn't, the tab that the screw goes through fit just tight under where the wires came out of the grip. The unit rotates with the grip as if it's a part of it.

First time took maybe 10-15 minutes including fiddling and figuring out what size grip pad to use from the kit ... I'll bet I can do it in less than 5 now that I know what I'm doing. :)

Thanks! Did you shave/cut the inside of the grip as they suggested or did you reposition/set the grip further out on the throttle tube?

Nope .... the only thing I had to do was slightly adjust the gap between the control housing and the grip ... basically that entailed sliding the grip out just a hair on the tube. No trimming was required for my install.

OH ... there is a point where you can tighten the clamp on the ATLAS too much and it will cause drag on throttle because the plastic tube is getting out of shape. It grips pretty damn good so it doesn't need a bunch of pressure.

Hey, did you ever get that installed on your 8th gen. I really want one, but I don't want to order one until I know that it fits without any modifications.

Actually no, it's still sitting on the box. Life happened, we had a death in the daily and that out a squelch on everything.
