    Thanks guys,

I don’t really have a go to place for parts, this is the first motorcycle I have looked at in 22 years

Just waiting for vinscoot to confirm, and also been in touch with another seller on eBay pipeman who sells these

As the F2 was not sold in the US they are not sure what will fit correctly, as they don’t have a pattern to work from,

I will have to get something sorted soon as I’m attempting to get it through the road worthy test on the 4th August

Simply using the link that NB provided and cross referencing provides the answer that they are the same as many U.S. models. You should be able to get them to put together a proper kit.

While I’m waiting for parts and other things, I thought I would take a look at removing the horrid LED indicators and put the standard ones back on, started following the wiring trail, and

The big black lump with all the red and blues coming out, is some kind of electronic led driver, you can just see one of the indicators in the yellow wire loop at the top.

Really don’t suit the bike, far too modern

As you can see I’m working in a cramped space at the rear of the garage, stuck behind the Mrs Mercedes SLK320 she never drives

That black lump could be the resisters that help LED markers flash at a normale rate. LEDs can be plugged in as normal, but just flash much faster.

I can see some electrical surgery is going to be needed

I have got my brother to order a set of pipes from vinscoot (Dave) for a VF1000 R, these should solve my issues, and then I will have 3 plastic ones to sell off.

Still waiting for some delivery’s, in the wait I have taken some pictures of the inside of the tank before it gets the Deox-C treatment

    So before .......

The top of the tank is much worse than the bottom,

The Deox-C has arrived this morning

Mix this 1kg pack with 20litres warm water

    Seal fuel float hole
    [IMG]
Syphon contents of bucket into tank

Now leave fo 24 hours, rinse and repeat if needed

You can use this stuff over and over till it goes black, then chuck it away

Impressive that! Fortunately, I've never had to do it... filed away in my data bank, thanks.

The last bit of rust by the inside of the filler

Think I’m quite happy with the results

Now to put the hose pipe in and wash it out, put some light oil in there to stop any further rusting till it’s back on the bike

So not much done, you were quite correct captain 80’s, It was a pair of big resistors, can you believe wrapped in shrink wrap, then a layer of aluminium foil? Then another layer of shrink wrap

Removed all that, and fitted the rear originals, then came to take a look at the fronts, looks like both mountings are broken out the fairing, and the plates that fit in the fairing are both broken, now have to work out how I’m going effect a decent repair keeping looking fairly original

The lower half of the fairing is also very battered and broken, think I might have a big task on my hands with the fairing

I have repaired the little teardrop shaped parts that hold the front indicators, these are ABS which is great news as it’s easy to fix

Hope the fairing is the same stuff, if so I will have to go buy a load more Lego Bricks

Permatex Plastic Epoxy is great stuff as an alternative to Legos, very tough, fileable, sandable, paintable.
