I think by now I can confidently say I'll get 3000 miles out of the 023 rear and they are performing very very well. That will be the most I've ever gotten out of a rear here in Twisty Land on a VFR. PR 2's are good tires but only lasted me 2-2200 miles. Yep, we eat them up here.

I got mine for about $300 shipped and mounted (off bike). Now I'm kind of wishing I had gone with the GT spec, based on today's report. So far, I'm quite happy with the feel, handling, and grip. If I can get more than 5k miles, I'll be happy...more than 6k would be even better!

You guys ride a hell of a lot harder than I do. I think I am on about my 7th rear tire now and that is on 200,000 km So on average, I am getting well over 15,000 km per set. That is well over 9,000 miles

Wow. Including the OEM tires, this is now my 5th set, with only 16k miles!!!

Now I'm glad I got the GT spec. Still very happy with these tires.

Yeah, I'm pretty disappointed with the T30s...I say I have more than 2K left on my tires, but no getting 11-12K miles out of the set like I'm used to with the Michelins.

I'm interested to try the PP3/PR4 combo next.

So far satisfied with the GT-spec, but we'll see where I finally end up.

Disappointed with the longevity of the first set I had which were NOT GT-spec.

The PP3/PR4 has been my combo for my 6 Gen for the last few sets now. I like the turn in feel of the front and the longevity I've been getting out of both. I have on occasion done some aggressive riding with them and have every confidence in them, at least until they get to the wear indicators, then you have to take it easy. This is where I am at on my 5 Gen PP3s. Ironically I'll be trying out the Bridgestone S21 Hypersports on my 5 Gen. I couldn't pass up the price, particularly with the $50 gift card rebate.

Depending on how the S21 trial goes, I may run those for a while on the 5 Gen but I'm really reluctant to change my PP3/PR4 combo on my 6 Gen. Waiting to see how the T30GT report goes.

Are you running that combo loaded down with gear or just commuting??

Depends, most of the time I have my top case and tank bag with my work gear (@50 lbs extra) when I commute. I have done a few road trips with slightly more extra weight, side bags with top case and tank bag but I pack lite, but then I also have more protective gear on. I would say unless my wife is on the back, I'm no more than 100lbs of added weight. The majority of my touring rides have been in the Sierra Mountains an the Central Coast of California, which are know for being a bit twisty. Not sure if this compares to your load weights but for me this is my usual.

I'm usually packing 200lbs or so, not including the protective gear I'm wearing.

I travel heavy compared to most I'd say.

No offense but you're probably a bit heavier than me too, I'm ~175lbs with gear (leathers, boots, etc). This along with what you add will be a factor as well.

OOTV is small enough that if he tries to hitchhike on the highway, the trucks suck him under.

    Yeah. I'm 6' and 238lbs. Definitely a factor.

I picked up a lot of weight after my accident last year but I've lost most of it. Another 10lbs to go and I'll be happy.

My pr 4 were about $300 and wear like iron, perfect tire in bad weather, t30 sounds very good, but still won't last as long as the pr4-that's a fact.

It's a fact? You've tried the T30 on your bike?

I changed the tires on my Specialized Enduro from trail tires to more roadworthy tires. There were still tonnes of tread left on the old ones so I cut them down and re-joined them with gorilla tape and mounted them on my VFR. Works great!

don't be so sure about that. The PR4 wears faster than the PR2/3. I'm speaking from direct personal experience backed up by experience of others I've seen first hand. Additionally, the T30 Evo is equally good in rain, also direct personal experience.
