    Here is the inside of the 84 Carb Plenum;
The short end of the venting T-Tube pokes in.

But note the tube has a Restrictor Orifice in it.
or the vacuum in that area could Self-Bias the jetting.
I may shrink that Restrictor more.

If not then Honda vents to atmosphere.
I guess run a hose somewhere gasoline can spill out.
Buy not where a wind can pass over the open end, or a vacuum could still occur.

Partzilla OnLine does not show the 85 VF1000Ff, since it was not sold in USA, so can't check PNs without going to a Dealer.

I have a Carb Bank on Plenum on the shelf, and it has No Holes in the plenum for Venting.
I can't place the year on that (came with 2x VF1000F basket cases, along with Quad, Dirt Bike, and Snowmobile parts mixed in).

84 & 85 are Near Identical, with differences in Carb numbers, Glass/Blade Fuses, Paint and Headlight type, and now Carb Venting?

    Viva La Difference?

Yep we are talking about the same thing.
Thanks for you effort in tracing the carb vent.
    I appreciate it very much.
I think I like the option where a hose is run to where the battery vent goes. That might be the original location.

Needed a radiator but didn’t want topay $130US or more for a used one.
    I found a new aluminum rad fora 98-03 Yamaha FZ600 for $55US
    A little modification and voila
Tank and plastics are out being painted

lock plates are C-shaped brassy-looking and secure the screws holding the carbs to the airbox bottom with tabs that bend over.

I just upgraded all my lights to LED
    hight output
    Much brighter than incandesents
Turn signals are 1500 lumens amber
Brake light is 850 lumens red (couldn't find a 1500 lumen)
Upgraded the flasher to work with LED’s
Used a standard automotive flasher from Autozone
The polarity must be different on these hondas
Had to swap the B-battery and E-earth wires to get it to work
    L-load remains the same

Great Job,,.. now to get it MOT'd and take it out, Scare yourself.

    Just got mine running;

Saw you had a Lathe in the background.
Here's a little project,,.. The shifter pivots on the left footpeg.
One side is the steel footpeg, the other is the Aluminum FootPegs Stay.
Over time the steel shifter wears the Aluminum Stay.
If you think the shifter is Sloppy now,,..
A background project is to mill down the shifter a little and Lathe a steel washer for in there.
Temporarily I use Molybdenum Disulfide (MolyKote- G-N assembly paste) to save the Aluminum, way better than grease.

    That sounds nice
Yes it’s saftey certified and licenced for the road
I have been driving it to work and have been to Freedom Machines and Port Dover Friday 13th and yes i have scared myself on it
Pulled out to pass a car and went from 80 kph to 200 kph way too quick
    Didn’t even leave 5th gear

I’m not sure i understand what your getting to about the shifter ( it’s an age thing )

    The Steel Shifter wears a Groove into the Aluminum FootPeg Stay;

    It gets real sloppy.
I'm considering machining the area and putting in a Needle Bearing in there.

So you noticed that,,.. normally a 4 into 1 means deleting the Center Stand.
    Don't know where its from.
I bought a bundle of 2x Basket Cases of VF1000F.
    It came in the pile.
I would prefer Stock Silencers, but don't have another set.
I got lucky that the Center Stand could stay.
Seems a little loud but I haven't had it out for a ride yet.
Since its taken me 3 years to put it togather, I can't rember whats Tight or Finger Tight.
So I need to do a Bolt Audit first,,.. probably OK, but I have Aged Memory too.
