    Thanks for the scientific response. I would like to add that in addition to lots of grey squirrels in my back yard, we also have a very small, what I believe is called a Ground Squirrel, who lives in our wood pile (what I refer to as our outdoor habitat). This is not a Chipmunk; we have those also. He is half the size of the grey squirrels, reddish in color, has a thinner tail, and does not appear to be arboreal. His metabolism appears to be considerably faster than than that of the grey squirrels, kind of like a Hummingbird compared to a Robin. The grey squirrels seem to be afraid of him, giving wide birth and running away when approached. Nice to see the little guy with the power for once! Are you familiar with these cheeky little creatures?

    Not that I recall. I have seen Fox Bats (I believe that's the right name), though. May also be called Fruit Bats, but I'm not sure. They do indeed look like a red fox with leathery wings, and are extremely large.

    Every single creature, extant or extinct, fascinates me. Always has.

    Have I wondered off-topic far enough yet?
