Honestly though why do I have to fix Honda’s poor design and supplier quality issues? SMDH

Looking for OEM stators: found them at www.bikebandit.com
Anyone have opinions on bikebandit? Are they a good source for OEM stators? Is the Honda dealership the best place to buy a stator?

So, here's the update. I installed Roadstercycle's super kit and new WPS Featherweight Lithium Battery HJTZ14S-FP-IL HJTZ14S-FP-IL 490-2517. I measured battery voltage at a stable 14.06 at idle and ~5000 rpm. Resting battery voltage today was 13.35 which increased about 0.10V from before install. It seems to be charging. I will note that the yellow FACTORY stator cables still get warm-hot as well as the new R/R. But i did have the bike kicking the fans on @ 220F or 104C. Thanks to all who contributed to researching/troubleshooting VFR electrical issues. Below are some install details and a question.

I think i read this detail buried in another thread, but if you are using the 4 way adapter from Roadstercycle, you will need to cut the bracket down to fit the fairing boss.

Roadstercycle also recommends an extra 12" of stator cable, but i found this to be too much. I think 12" included in the super kit is plenty. (at least for the 2004 6th gen)

Here are the stator cables wrapped in flexible tubing and the unused factory connector heatshrinked and sealed with liquid tape (idea taken from another thread on here)

With all the time and effort I put into this fix, I'm very mindful about what lies beneath my right side fairing. So, it makes me nervous about rain seeing this gap and relatively exposed r/r and some harness wires.

I guess my question is, is this normal and should I rearrange the harnesses so they are touching the fairing (maybe some weatherproofing)? It seems like my fairing is lined up with the front fairing. Maybe I just didn't notice these details before the issues.

Looks like you got the charging system running good...
    >I wish you would have contacted me on the bracket, I make 6th gen R/R mount plate kits that are drop in, bolt up, forget it.. no mods required.
