I've been enjoying the heck out of some Paul Garmirian with maduro wrappers lately. It seems the perfect smoke for me. The cigar vendor where I buy them in McLean has some aged Paul Garmirians as well. Some are 15 years old. Pricey and, while good, not worth the extra price in my opinion. I've tried all the samplers and only rarely been disappointed. I think I'll stick with maduro PGs for a while now though. Anyone know where these can be obtained online?

Nung, sjcigars.com seem to have about the best prices out there on the internet. I'm lucky enough to have a relatively local dealer of them. He has just about every P.G. cigar made (he's a P.G. dealer) but what I really like about him is that he has eight-packs of P.G. seconds. They work out to about $6 a stick and smoke and taste every bit as good as the others.

Check out jrcigars.com while you're at it. They don't carry Paul Garmirian cigars but I was able to purchase twelve rolls of Nancy Pelosi toilet paper for a buck a roll. And, yes, I'm perfectly serious.

They were always my choice in the past. I like Rothman's sense of humor.

Anything new lately? Tried a couple Rocky Patel limited sticks that were nice, forgot the variety, some limited edition cigar. A Gurkha Evil that went down nicely but mostly sticking to the RP Edge varieties plus some lower priced sticks good for every day.

Edit: Checked the RP sticks and they were the Edge Sumatra 2010. Wasn't all that impressed though, probably stick to the other consistent RP Edges.

Right after dinner, I'm going to smoke a Perdomo Reserve Limited Oscuro. They are a 100% Nicaraguan cigar & I'm very partial to them & they are pretty easy on the wallet. Lots of thick smoke & very consitent draw. I would say it has a slight kick, probably a 6.5 of 10 on the strength scale. I definitely notice a note of coffee or something similar & a slight sweet flavor.

Perdomo Reserve Limited Oscuro - Cigars International

My smoke will be accompanied by a new spirit, Jack Daniels American Forrest Limited Edition. I've never heard of it, so that makes it new to me. It is very tasty. It's very similar to Single Barrel, but is noticably sweeter.

I just got a box of Isla del Sol from Drew Estates. It's supposedly coffee infused, but it's not as strong as Java also from drew estates. I usually like it but sometimes it just tastes kind of blah.

Isla Del Sol's are not bad. I would recommend them to anyone that is looking for a mild cigar.

I may give those a try, I've been looking for a coffee style cigar but have hesitated buying over the Java's price.

Had a Joya de Nicaragua Cabinetta two-tone tonight, also by Drew Estates. Very complex cigar for the price range. Joya de Nicaragua Cabinetta Serie Release @ Cigar Inspector

Hey boys, thanks for the recent updates and feedback. I have been enjoying the odd cigar now and then but I am out of practice. I was camping recently and couldn't finish a nice Joya de Nicaragua...I was a wimp...it comes from not smoking enough I guess. Hardly touched my Scotch too. I think I am getting old! (But I can still heft a 90 lb pack!)

When I find myself smoking more out of habit than enjoyment, I stop for a while (a week to a month). The first one always kicks my tail. Apparently the body knows that smoking ain't healthy...

That being said, another cigar worth trying that is mild-medium and good from start to finish is the 5 Vegas Gold. I prefer the double nickel size (5 x 55 box press). If it has been mentioned before, my apologies. I'm too lazy today to re-read the prior posts.

Keep smokin', Nungboy! Take one for the team, and all that sort of stuff...

Not a cigar aficionado , but I believe I saw an ad somewhere for "Bill Clinton" cigars, "a cigar with an unusual, yet familiar, aroma".

Tonight I enjoyed a La Gloria Cubana Series R #7 maduro. It was a 7X58 which is a BIG stick. This cigar is not for the casual smoker. On a scale of 1-10, it's a solid 8.5. HIGHLY recommended.

La Gloria Cubana & LGC Serie R - Cigars International

This smoke was accompanied by an 8 pack of various beer, mostly Dos Equis Ambar. Stay Thirsty My Friends.

Jumping back into the Scotch discussion, as a support discussion to the cigars; I recently purchased two new bottles, Cragganmore and Glenkinchie, both 12 yo, to try. This almost completes my tour of the "Classic Malts" of Scotland. I will say, Glenkinchie may now be my new #2. While Talisker's stays my #1, Glenkinchie is very good, right up my alley. If you like dry and smokey (peaty), Glenkinchie is not as strong as Talisker's or Lagavulin, but it's got great balance and it looses some of the "sea saltiness" of the other two. Strong recommendation to try.

I only have one left to complete my tour, Dalwinnie, which I'll get when one of these two are empty...
