I changed the clutch fluid in my y2k vfr about 2 weeks ago . Yesterday, I stalled it in 1st gear and the slight forward momentum may have rotated the crank a small amount. Since then, I notice a single snap noise as the clutch lever just leaves the bar while in gear only. (this noise happens well before the clutch engages and never while in neutral) I also hear it upon each shift while driving down the road. It does seem to be less pronounced when I rode it today. It seems to be coming from inside the cowl somewhere. Does anyone have any ideas what may be causing this? Should I be concerned? Should I replace the fluid again? Other than the single snap noise, the clutch seems to perform as before. Any thoughts would be much appreciated. Ride Safe, Dave
Noise from cowl Hi Dave Had a simular noise on my "5th generation" in the uk 800FiW turned out to be from the snorkel on air filter which has an air flap which make that kind of noise, no doubt you will get plenty of good advice on this thread.
