I was just in Ann Arbor the past two days. I live in Jackson though. Yes, the North section is slow on here. Mostly west coast and east coast riders on here. There a few guys on VFRD from MI more frequently. Couple up in Grand Rapids and handful around metro Detroit area.

Too early to hope for summer?

I guess the fact that today is finally over 32 is making me excited for the upcoming riding season! I moved to Ann Arbor last summer and ride an 02. Hopefully get a chance to meet some of you guys and go for some rides. (I have to say, moving from St. Petersburg FL to here is a weather shock! Com on warm weather!!!)

That is definitely quite the weather shock! It's funny that you're excited for the "warm" weather today as I was out skiing on the west side of the state today. lol

I usually make it over to Ann Arbor once or twice a month. What part do you live in? I'm usually visiting a buddy at Woodchase apartments by Liberty/I94. He rides an old honda when he has time too but has been working crazy hours the past summer.

Skiing sounds like a good idea. Cross-country, downhill? I need to find more winter recreation activities. A bunch of friends and I did go up to Munising last month for a weekend of snowmobiling which was great!

Your friend lives just down the road from me, maybe 5 minutes away. I'm up by the Maple Village Shopping center; in the neighborhoods between Dexter and Miller.

I was downhill skiing. It's definitely a lot of fun but it gets expensive real fast if you don't have your own equipment. Some of the bigger resorts north of Clare have pretty decent midwest skiing but it doesn't compare to any of the resorts out west or east that are actually in the mountains.

Snowmobiling is blast as well. I haven't gone in years, but it was always a good time. I was actually up in Munising back in October but I did a weekend backpacking along the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. Nice area up there.

I'm trying to locate another gen5 rider in the North Detroit suburbs. I went to a Friday bike night at Gibraltar Trade Center and saw a red VFR with a double bubble windscreen in the parking lot. Wondered if it belonged to anyone on this forum?

Wasn't me. I'm still in the Jackson area. Occasionally venturing out to Lansing or Ann Arbor but not that far.

Possibility it could be a member I know from St Clair Shores...so not far from Gibraltar Trade Center. He owns a red 6G with a double bubble . Real nice guy...met him last year. Member "mlap5150"

His name is Mark. Drop him a PM.

Shizzle, you are talking 5G. Doh! Well, Mark is a good lad to ride with either way.

He is the one on the right, I'm on the left.

Hey that's me! When are you coming back to MI Jason?

In response to the previous post, I don't know any other VFR riders in the area (other than my buddy Jeff but he has an 8th gen), but there's someone in Harrison Township (city just to the north of me) with a nice red 5th gen for sale on craigslist, not sure if it's the same guy.

Hi Michigan group, proud new owner of a riding buddy's 1999, looking to connect with other VFR riders. Shoot me an email if you'd like to ride sometime: dksaline@gmail.com. Cheers!
