Hi guys, hope everyone is doing well, got a quick question for you all, I am about to start a steering bearing change on my VFR and could not find a how to area, coming from other forums, we usually got a How to area for every version of the bike we have, do we have a How to area, reason I am asking is because I am about to start taking pics of the whole process so I can post it up. I have seen many threads where a how to this and that is described, but it would be nice to have a how to sticky area for all the common stuff or the complicated stuff. please let me know if I am missing something, or if this is something that could be implemented in the future. Also I do not want to waste time taking pics if it is already there. I will be changing the bearings on a 2004 6th gen.
Being as this forum has been around for better than a decade, many of the repair tasks have been discussed photoed sliced and diced multiple times already, but not set in a how to area. There is a mechanic's section..... You might search to see what you come up with....
Thanks Mello, Yeap, found that one, but everything seems scattered here and there, thought it would easier if we have a How to section with the most common thing, although the most common for some of us is everything since we ended up doing all of the work on our bikes. The good new is that I thought I was due for bearings, but i procrastinated to check the tire pressure for the tires, and found the front to be super low, pump it up to the specs and it handles way better, now I do not have the weird feeling up on the steering anymore, should it have started there. I will keep an eye on the bearings anyway since it has 32k miles on it and I have read here that many folks have found them to be done around that time, manual call for checks I believe, but if I am taking the thing apart I am changing it already.
