first timer question on fuel cutoff relay wiring 97 vfr750

Just the mere fact the filter was completely blocked indicates the tank has shit in it and obviously the fuel pickup is blocked, tank needs to come off and be properly cleaned

OK, well I finally bit the bullet and bought an OEM pump and I'm back in business. The bike was getting plenty of clean fuel but BOTH of the pumps I got were not working properly (or at all). Finally installed the OEM pump a few days ago and vroom fired right up and runs great now. It sounds crazy but the fuel delivery feels much better with the OEM as the ebay pumps ran lean IMO. Had to give it more throttle at stops and in general. Now I feel the power like I should. Turns out the viffer hates chinese parts.
If anyone else runs into this problem I recommend not effing with the $40-$60 ebay pumps as I ended up losing money vs. the OEM with time spent, weeks off the road, and money spent going back and forth to the hardware store. OEM was $133 delivered. I found a guy who ships 3-day priority (good deal as i'm in Hawaii) who I can connect with you if you're interested.
