Just a patch of gravel where the road had been resurfaced and passing cars had piled it up on the outside of a bend. I was crossing the junction and the back end just went, less than 10mph so it didn't slide far. Pain in the arse indeed.

That Sucks big time! I read other posts and saw the pictures, so I know what happened and you are ok. That's good news. I did notice on your pictures your slider. I have never seen ones like that. I like that you had the VFR logo on it. It did a great job on the keeping the sides panels and engine covers safe. Let me know what they are. You just re-ignited my interest about having them on my bike. This is another question that given your current state of aggravation may be inappropriate. BUT if you claim this on your insurance and get new side cowl would you be interested in selling me your VFR logo off that panel if you can get it off? ;-)

The Mk 2 version are not as good as Mk 1, the originals had a 3 point to frame fixing, so the slider puck holder can bend it's 2 fixing bolts without stressing the bolts that go into the frame, the slider was detachable without removing the bots into the frame, the new ones mean you have to remove the bolts to get to the rear fairing catch, as required at oil changes etc ...backward step IMHO

Thanks Nelix, I went to the website and they are currently out of stock. Is T-Rex a American company or a Euro company? I see that you and others are across the pond.

    Yes T-Rex sliders

They very conveniently stopped making replacement pucks for the Mk 1 in May this year, even though I paid for some on their website in May, so if you haven't got them already you'll get Mk2
