Nice pic! The bike looks great and I can't help but wonder if possibly you and your wife have decided to go to cali to detail scubalongs ride's? Like I said before, you could start a tour and if you just so happen to pass by the Kansas City area...... I'm just saying...

she has gloves, and riding pants
and i have a pair of shift havoc riding pants

we were at a get together of sorts.
car show, open house, dyno, lunch in, demo ride thing a guy around our area was throwing.

the guy that took the pic is a photographer, so we jumped on for a pic.

i usually never let her ride without gloves riding pants.
but it wasnt far down the road for this affair, so she did without the riding pants, i as well.

really weird though, i used to never ride with a jacket, riding pants, or boots.

    just gloves and a helmet.

    never went down..
but i just value my life/skin/bones more now (growing up does that to you)
so much so that this winter i upgraded all my gear to leather.. (well pants are leather/textile hybrid, leather in the important areas)
    and got a new helmet.

it is crazy how much more confident you are with protective gear, and you feel alot safer.

the wife always complains about being hot, i tell her better to be hot then have a skin graft.

    I stand corrected!!!!

I know what you mean about hot, it was 33C yesterday, but I still had all the gear on, boy do I get wierd looks from the t shirt, shorts, flipflop, Hyabussa brigade.

I have just bought some Red Route biking jeans, kevlar lined and armour on the knees. Much cooler in high temps. Not as good as leather but better than shorts.

i thought long and hard about pants before i bought them. and im extremely happy with the Shift Havoc pants. very comfortable (even to walk around in) leather and textile hybrid pants.. double leather in seat area and hips and thighs, leather from the knees down, everything else is textile.. has aramid stretch panels above the knees. has armor in the knee areas. has pockets too... they fit over the boot, and are made a little long so in riding postion the will still cover the boot nicely. they breath ok, and are ok in cold weather as well. i think they are a great sport touring pant (dont know if thats what they are designed for but they are brilliant for it)

at $200 + shipping, i think they are a great bargain!

you might wanna check them out.

now the lady has the joe rocket ballistic 7.0 pants, and she loves them, all textile, but are waterproof, have a removable wind barrier, they breathe well, fit her great, and also have the armor, and padding in them.

they are the Firstgear Onyx bags..
i made my own hard bracket for them. it attaches under the grab rail area, and by the rear pegs. then i made a bracket in the bag, so they can be mounted and dismounted quickly still leaving the brackets in place.

    they worked out well.

i have a thread about it on here.
