Gen 5 vs Gen 6 for fast riding / track days

    You can make a shim / spacer using thick washers or an actual spacer cut to the length you need. I used a spacer that I had from some of my old Honda car projects.

    Check out the shock in this ebay ad. You can see that the upper mount is essentially a bolt sticking straight up. All you do is take the nut off that bolt, lift the back of the bike, which will drop the upper mount below the frame and then slide on a number of washers or a custom spacer. Then drop the back end down and install the nut again. Eazy peezy.

    Also, 8k has you in the OMG portion of the power band where you can REALLY rip out of the turn whereas 5k just isn't there yet~
