This is great news Michael....well, I guess the "great" news will be once he actually puts it in a box and gives to to UPS/Fed Ex. I find it very lame that he has done this....no excuse in my book. I mean, what kind of misunderstanding could it be??? "Oh, sorry, I have been ignoring you for 3 months, keeping your bag, and your money...whoops, my bad, I thought when you were e-mailing me over and over you just were lonely and just wanted to talk...it was all a misunderstanding!" :bs:

    Lame, lame, lame....

Glad you are getting some action on this. I hope it all works out. Did he say if he had painted the bag, or will you get it back like it was? Either way, it would be good to just get it back. The power of VFRW is amazing!!!! It's great having a place like this where info can be shared.

Looks like he has shipped the bag! Have a tracking number and hope to have the bag on Thursday. I do not beleive that this would have happened without the help of the members of this forum.

    Thank you all!!

There was another bung suck who scammed board members a while back stealing VFR bags. He was theopsmanager, also from TN. I hope you get better results with your situation. Let's hope he packed them carefully so they don't get damaged worse.

It'a back, and per Noz's request, here it is happily attached to my bike! Notice that they come up as thumbnails -- just click on to see a bigger image.

    Here's the before:

    And here's the after:
    bag 2.jpg

Here's the label after it got cleaned up:
    label.jpg

The color is slightly off but that's to be expected, and you have to look to notice it -- he did a very good job.

You'll notice that the label is not yet on -- I'm real nervous about getting it on properly. Worried about using the right adhesive and not getting adhesive showing around the edges, but needing it right to the edge.

Hoping that I can pick up a reflector somewhere -- that might be a bit tough. Nice thing is that it just bolts on.

In the end I think NOOB2VFRS is an honest dude who got overwhelmed with work and needed a major wake-up call to get his butt in gear to finish the job, and I strongly believe that's what y'all were able to provide. While I would not recommend you sending him work because of the time taken and the lack of communication, I'm willing to forgive and forget and going forward treat him with respect on the forum.

I bought the bike in July and dropped the bag riding home, so this is the first time since I owned the bike that I've had both bags on! Will take my son to see High School Musical 3 shortly, and then I think I'll need to spend a few hours "testing" the bags!

    Michael,

That was quite decent of you to give credit for the work done. It is just too bad you had to go throught what you did to get your property back. And it was too bad that NOOB2VFRS did not stay in touch with you to let you know what was going on. This might very well have elimintated the need for you to post your rightful concerns. Maybe a lesson learned.

Ride safe and don't scratch this one.:jaw:
