Guhl Motors or Don Guhl is no longer flashing ECU's of any kind, it's something about the EPA cracking down on a 1970's law about not modifying anything with a vin#. I just got a vfr1200f and would like to know if anyone has the ability to do the same quality flash as Don Guhl?

Any response will ge greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,

    Rob

There is a guy, Stefan based in Holland who can do the same as Don was doing but you don't have to send him your ECU, he can do it over the internet. You need a special cable to connect a laptop to the ECU, he sends you a piece of software to allow him access to your laptop so he can access the ECU and he'll do whatever you want....remove gear limiters, fan operating temps etc.

He's contactable via Facebook but I can't post a link as I don't do FB on my phone so I'll have to wait until I get home from work to post it. There are plenty of discussions/posts on the VFR1200 FB group, which also contain the link to Stefan.

After 2 years, I finally pulled the ECU from my VFR1200F DCT to send to Guhl... Called them up and no dice. The dude literally said "Don't blame us, blame the Biden Administration. The EPA is coming after everyone with $5000 per ECU fines."

I will try this Stefan dude in Holland and see what happens.

This is his FB site. The Dutch VFR owners are very positive about the results after the flash.

    Rob.
Did you ever find a bin file? I'm looking too. I have a 2010. I would also be interested in finding someone with a Guhl modified ECU that we could suck the tune from.

    All the best
    Cindy.

it's my understanding that Don Guhl and Brock's Performance are teamed up on several Kawasaki projects. It might be worth an inquiry to Brock's to see if they will reflash your 7th gen. Don did my '13 four years ago and it was transforming!!!
