Hello all. asking for a friend in Calgary. He has a 1984 1000f interceptor. He'll like to find handle bars that would allow a more upright sitting position. He suffers from a neck injury. I heard VFR bars might work, but I have limited knowledge on this subject. Hope you can help. Thanks everyone!

The stock bars on the VF1000F are some of the highest 41mm Honda bars out there. Installed 1994 VFR bars on mine to LOWER them. 1990 - 1997 VFR bars are the same height, just a change in the clamp bolt location 93 to 94.

Are his bars stock or lower aftermarket?

The Hawk GT (NT650) 41mm bars are pretty high too, but I think they are about the same as stock VF1000F

After looking at some photos, I think the Hawk GT bars are actually taller than the VF1000F bars. Not sure how well the cables and wires can accommodate the potential extra height.

I don't have have any original bars for my hawk, but if you see this message, I can probably get somebody over on the Hawk forum to measure the rise.
