Hello all, recently purchased a 2003 VFR with 8000kms on the clock. It had been sitting a little bit and requires some talc.

So far I have replaced the tires, brake pads, sources a new oil pan due to broken mounting tab for right side fairing, replaced the wind screen, bought a vfrness was ( yet to be installed), gave it a thorough cleaning, and just purchased delkevic carbon 8” slip ons.

Now I’m patiently waiting for winter to end so I can enjoy this machine.

    Happy new year to all.

So. I take it you were not riding today then> I am on the normally wet coast but it has been unusually cold here last few days. You would laugh though. Barrie. Is that where the Goodyear plant is or is that Chatham? I had a fling with a woman from that city (worked at the Goodyear plant) between marriages

I’ve never seen a good year plant in my travels around Barrie, must be Chatham. No no riding whatsoever, it’s snowing quite heavily right now.

Welcome here LD. Nice bike. Check out the threads on rr-replacement. You may want to consider an upgrade. Otherwise, outstanding bike! Maybe see you out there. Likely Randy is referring to the General Tire plant that shut down 25 years ago in Barrie. Showing his age again...

Hi Laker, yes a R/R will be on my list to get. With only 8K on the clock I’m hoping I have some time to get used to it before that goes. I also have another stock stator in case something does decide to fry the one in the bike.

Yeah I moved in the area 15yrs ago, but only remember the Molson plant as I drove through .

Hope to see you out there after the deep freeze is over.

    Thx,
    Jamie

I have a brand new Molson Coors plant being built just about a 2 km from my home. that could bring me out of retirement again. Scheduled to be up and running sometime in 2018 but watching it go, I doubt that. I worked in a brewery in Winnipeg back in my late teens and early 20's. Carling O'Keefe. They were bought out by Molson.

I think I saw a bottle of that in a Museum once! (Ha Ha!)
It's finally you Easterners turn for some cold. We just got through a bad patch. Was plus 4C today, though. Will be short lived though.
    Enjoy your new ride, @LIGHTDUTY.

Drinking Molson's way back was sacrilege in my home. My old man was a beer salesman with O'Keefe's then Carling O'keefe. Molson was the competition. Their beer was prohibited in our house by anyone. Molson bought ou Carling O'keefe after the old man passed.
