    Hi All,

Just bought a 1986 silver VF1000F2 Bol D’or, it’s in desperate need of some serious TLC, last serviced in 2003, and done just under 3000 miles in the last 17 years

it’s done 38,000 miles, I’m a bit of a car nut too, I own and tend to ramble about my other ongoing projects
My 1992 Porsche 968, and anything else I touch

not owned a bike since 1998,
But I did work for bike shops as a mechanic up to 1982, Heron Suzuki, Eddie Grimstaeds and a few others, a spanner is no stranger

looking forward to getting it sorted out before the end of this summer, I have done most of the engine done and carbs, need a new rear tyre it’s dated 2005!

    regards Martin

    Welcome to VFRW Martin.

With your background in turning a wrench, you will be right at home and a great source of information I would think.

You should think about starting a new thread on your '86 rebuild. Take lots of photos and keep us updated as you go along (we tend to love that sort of thing).

Do you have a photo of your new VF that you could upload as part of your introduction?
    We are also visually stimulated.

Oh sorry forgot to include a picture

It has laser cans, don’t like them that much so there will be a set of Marving going on eventually,

And some real old pictures from our biker group 1978/9, and we are all still friends today, we regularly meet up for a beer or three
All except Paul 2nd from left, in picture 2 sitting on a yellow FS1e, we lost him to cancer 10 years ago
