ETC is Electronic Toll Charge, a device used to automatically charge a prepaid toll card at toll booths in . very handy for those who commute in Japan. I am not currently in Japan, but I used to live there for two years with the navy, and probably going back. As Americans, we are cheated out of all the good stuff, Japan keeps it all to themselves. but if there is anything you would like, I have a friend who is still stationed there and accepts paypal........;)

Incidentally anyone needing just the mounting brackets for the hard bags can get them for around 200usd through the japanese. and the heater grips are about 135usd. If they had them in stock at the local dealership here (for that price) I would already have them.

Hmm - the heated grips seem to be better than the ones my dealership sold me for $80.

Wish we could get those here.....

You can also get some of this from David Silver Spares in the UK, that is where I got my "Honda" heated grips.

David silvers is a good resource, but I think the shipping and conversion would just kill the cost

I agree, but after having a bike with heated grips and seat (and cruise control), some things are hard to give up!!!

Ok- here it goes. I have a buddy who is still In Japan and gets me parts for my JDM RVF400 all the time. If enough people would like to, I will set up a group buy of Honda heat grips and wiring harnesses for the gen6 VFR. I will be buying some myself, so might as well send a few extra to those interested. The conversion rate works in your favor, and the price you see on the website is what the dealers over there charge. add in a little for shipping and handling (read: I pay my buddy for his efforts), and the price is not nearly as bad as getting it from europe. post up if your interested, cause I personally think this year is going to be cold!

shipping wasn't bad, not as bad as I feared anyway
you could always organize a group buy to negate some of that cost

the conversion I can't help you with, it changes every day, all day
& lately the US dollar has been taking a drubbing on the world stage

I think that the heated grip kit is a honda universal item, however with this group order I will ensure that the 6gen wiring harnesses for the kit. if you look on the links it shows 4 items total needed for installation on the 6gen. If you want I could order just the grip kit for people who want to mod it for the 5gen, or you could get the wire harness and mod it, because as it looks from the web site, the wiring kit allows for auto shut off in a low battery condition.

The prices are as follows in yen:
    Grip kit: 13,125
    Interuption harness +: 210
    Interuption harness -: 472
    Switch bracket: 840

    total: 14,647
conversion (apprx): 124.32USD as of this posting. pop in shipping and handling and you wouldn't crack 140.00

It is a communication system that is blue tooth capable, intercom, gps, cell phone and audio capable. it is no different than any other unit that you can buy in the US, and runs about the same price. The only thing unique about this is it's a Honda "sponsored" item, manufactured by another company. Oh and the directions wouldn't be in english......

I am looking at the Starcom1 Advance system myself...

Seems I shot my mouth off too quick. It will be 150.00 USD including shipping from Japan. Not bad considering that from across the pond in the UK it is 229.04 USD- without shipping. If you still want in, private message me asap. I will be placing the order as soon as I get everyones money. I will use your PM as a way to send the details and to keep private info off the open web.
I do apologize for the price change but I am still going to be getting a set for me, and I will be paying 150.00 too.

Edit: The price I got from the UK was from david silver spares
    click on the david part.

I'm interested in a set, but do they have any bigger pictures? By the way, Goinphaster.... Where did your quote come from? I'd love to have that on a t-shirt.
