VFR 1200, I feel for you having to deal with a mess you actually paid money for. Typically, the premise is you pay money for a service you DONT want headaches with not vice versa. In addition, you paid a significant sum for a new VFR1200 and the experience on some level is tarnished. You handled this way more poised and composed than I would have and for that I applaud you.

It is my sincere hope your made whole again and can move forward enjoying your new VFR. You worked hard to buy it and you deserve it!

    Craig

More conspiracy theories. I own a honda car dealership. Wringer? If I had a tech that did this to one of my customers he would not be working for me very Long. I would be grateful for a simple phone call to let me know what was Happening. Interesting that social media nails the dealer. The actual techs name never gets posted.
I Simply suggested from day 1 that the cat calls the dealer directly.
I keep my bike looking great. I don't take this screw up lightly. I'd be very angry and want the problem looked after. There's only one guy that can fix the problem. He's the same guy I've been suggesting gets called from day. 1. Fishy ringer. Yes I have been Planted here by the higher authority with a clever cover spanning over the past year where I faked the purchase of my 10 Vfr and set up a fake back ground story on owning a Vfr 750 20 years ago. Gimme a break.

Actually 21 years I've had the VFRF. Never have driven it. Rode it yesterday to Walmart. "Fishy" and "ringer" can be looked up on one of the many colloquial type dictionarys on the net. Maybe you should take a break since you are the only one on the thread who is supporting this "dealer". Got a relative that is a big wheel with Nissan. I should call him and ask if he knows anyone who has sold 20,000 cars who is less than 85 years old.

Typical weasel car dealer.. ATGATT in polyester..

Mthinks Adiggs of Honda car sales fame is like a cat trying to cover up shit on linoleum. If this dude is a dealer like he states. then he should, instead of all this sage advice tell the OP who this flaky dealer who messed up the install really is so taking names and kicking ass is realtime. The supposition is that this flaky outfit is honest at the very top and the faults lie with the employees, is BS. Yep, all them car dealers is honest folk just tryin to make thier way in this ol world.

My theory is that when car dealers die they come back as funeral directors or Republicans. I think the term is regurgitation. ;)

Whoops I meant weasel, not cat..

    Nice

Sorry brother not much time for drama or bullshit name calling.
If the goal is to get the problem looked after then you know my thoughts. Call the guy at the top. If the guy at the top is aware of the issue and has not called the customer back or resolved the issue TOO THE FULLEST.. i'd vote for the video to hit CNN. I know how hard our team works to look after our customers. Calgary is clear across the country. I have no vested interest or know the bike dealer personally. I do know that after mortgaging my house I'd appreciate a heads up if one of my team caused this damage. We all love our bikes and love to ride. Its what we have in common. When mistakes happen at my store they don't need to get to me to get resolved. Its pretty clear that is not whats taking place across the country in Calgary. Should never have gotten this far. Guy needs to get looked after ..period.

Well. ol buddy at least, you got the part about riding bikes. I submit that few if any of the bike dudes here really give a shit about "your" dealerhip. The smart thing to do is toss out all the WWWWW&H associated with "your" dealership, and see what comes back from folks in your hood that ain't "across the country."

Or, do we have to search high an low for that too? I have a sinking feeling your drama didn't make it past the first scene of act 1. Maybe someday it will become a musical like "Titanic".

I see this thread is old, with just the one update post which put this on my radar. That's okay I wrote out a rant and I stick to it.

"Why did you put the video out there?" ===> Is this person mentally incompetent? YOU SCREWED ME THAT'S WHY, YOU JACK***!

"Why did someone put you in charge of service?" ==> There's no good answer for this one.

I agree with the point that service people should not take jobs they cannot do. However, they take all jobs, they charge out the wazoo, and if they screw up they do not care because they made plenty of money elsewhere.

I am seething now as stories are coming to my mind of bad service. A Conrads last year, while balancing my Borbet wheels broke all the wheel caps, got the wheels all greasy (I cleaned them like new) and their equipment gouged the back of the wheel. Years ago an electronics shop took my amp in, charged me for diagnostics, then said it needed a new transformer which they can't get. (1970's Fender amp.) They kept the fee which was supposed to go to the repair. ???? Another amp repairmen put in 1 tube and replaced a fried power resistor - I think he charged me $7.50 and it was like new.

I have learned this at work: The large majority of the workforce is somewhere between mediocre and incompetent. Very few people truly care or are meticulous. And it is getting worse. The young generations, influenced by politicians feel that you OWE them. So look for this type of thing to happen more as the old timers, the craftsmen, retire and leave behind an army of knuckleheads.

I rail against poor quality. It makes me want to explode.

Lets hope the OP got fixed up and deleted the address of this flaky dealership from his GPS.

One mo ting.. If the dude who sold 20000 Hondas cars owns or owned a dealership and is not a one man show, his sales guys sold the cars. All he did was crunch some numbers to make it look good.

The dudes that seem to always blame the customers for all sorts of shit, mostly IMO work for dealerships and are easy to spot.

Incidentally, I have taken my VFR to a Honda dealer's service department exactly twice. The first time was in Beaverton, OR. All I wanted was a new front tire. What I got was a new tire PLUS a dragging pad that warped my right rotor. And a big chip in my tank.

The second time I took it to a dealer in Ashland/Medford, OR. All I wanted was a new thermostat. What I got was a new thermostat PLUS a motorcycle that ran like crap (pinched hoses under the tank).

That was it. No more dealers. I have a great mechanic in Beaverton, OR, now.

Are my bad experiences atypical of Honda dealers?

m'thinks that Honda Inc. is aware of this site. Maybe if all the dudes that got screwed by Honda dealerships for any reason would start naming names, then Honda would start kicking ass. Even the harleydoods have a site for just that.
