I am 45 and single. I am looking for someone that that won't give me shit over having a bike. =)

I rode to Deals Gap last year with some friends. One had his 62 year old Dad with him and he was a fast, competent rider, riding an FZ6.

Oh wow my kind of thread, it looks like em in great company. LOL 55 years young, now if only I can bend over.. yea, no, this latest episode has me going WTH, I use to bounce right back, good news is it's lousy weather out so I have the time, if it doesn't drive me crazier to bounce back.

I thought VFR was the old guy bike? I'll be 50 soon, and thats why I bought mine.

I've always thought the 600 SS was for kids. I also feel if you live thru your SS stage long enough, you'll end up on a VFR.

i remeber reading a thread last year that had people giving there age etc..
and the general outcome was that the younger members on the forum (20 -30's) were well in the minority and the most common ages were in the 40+ bracket. thats where im at -47 and riding for cose to 30 years now.

i have to say the VFR is a perfect choice for you and this is proven by the number of enthusiasts on this forum in your age bracket.

but if you want, do an age spread as a pole thread-that will give you actual numbers and percentages to fire back.

Man - there's a lot of old timers around here!!

Mark Martin is still racing and winning in NASCAR at 50. He's still in contention for the season championship with the final race starting in a half an hour.

And to answer the question, I'm 34.

I bought my first VFR at age 46.

The second VFR was purchased at age 50 (almost 51).

I've accumulated over well over 150k miles between the two bikes.

As I edge ever closer to 60 (very soon) I have no real desire to leave the realm of sport bikes. They're just too much fun, and the VFR is eminently suitable for a fossil like me.

Having said that, I do lust for a Moto Guzzi Griso 8V.

    It's Not A Tumour!

Just tell her that the tumour, that made you want to ride the HDs, has finally cleared up. The VFR is the bike you were meant to ride, all along.

I'm only 48 and miss my VFR, can't ride them both at the same time yet, even when I'm dragging the pegs on my ST.

Too old for sex...maybe, too old to ride never!

Shy of 40. I ride with a co worker and he's 56. He has a 96 VFR. He loves the Goldwings but he's not ready for it. He often says that he'll by the goldwing when he gets old.

49 and proud of it. Still play hoops 3-4 times per week with the 20 year-olds at the local college, still hit the weights, and still have all of my hair. If you want to stay young you need to put in the work.

Oh, and the wife? Gone and glad...so afraid of bikes she wouldn't sit on one if it was still in the crate...I gave up close to 8 years of riding time because of her fear. Never, ever, ever again...

    50

    I am 50...

Just this year I purchased my first ever Motor cycle. Brand new 07 (RWB). Told wife I was thinking of buying a bike and she CRIED.... Said "you will never get my butt on that little seat". After some time she got on it. She had some issues. A corbin lady gunfighter seat and back rest solved her issues. Then the saddle bags were added for storage. Now she can't wait to go on a trip and spend the night some place.

Last weekend we went on a 100 mile ride Her longest and when we got done I asked her what happen to the person who cried? She said she likes being with me and trust me on it. Go figure!!

Also said to wifey "if I don't do it now I will never do it". Now I have 4,200 miles on bike and all is fine, with her also (i hope)

Now I wonder if I did the right thing getting her on it cause now she likes going riding. But she does let me go on my own.

    Richie
A HAPPY 50 YEAR OLD VFR OWNER...

ps Wife like and approved of this response

My Maid....:thumbsup:Yes.. I have one.. Without a wife I definitely can't keep up with everything around the house hold and get in good riding time ;) So when the maid is doing her thing I head to Lowe's and do the man things around the house.

    No regrets!

I decided to get my licence for my 50th and bought a CB250 a year ago. Just upgraded to a 1996 VFR750 and I am very happy with the decision.

No it isn't better than sex but I can ride a lot more often!

Unfortunately, my wife won't pillion (two months until I can legally carry one) because "if we crash, the kids lose both their parents at once". She has a point. Seems happy enough for me to ride but then I do have insurance...

    Regards,
    Wazza
