WOW, first update notice I've gotten in quite some time. Forgot about this thread when I hit another major milestone last September:

Friends had advance notice of my intentions and a conspiracy was hatched, so this was dessert at last year's WDGAH gathering:

The caption on the cake is the R/R part number:cool:
I rolled the odo in the hotel parking lot that evening.

I am working on catching up. But a long way to go with just over 110,000 miles.

'86 700 with 14,500 miles. Bike is not in front of me here at work for an exact figure, it's rainy today.

Well, you should be able to start closing the gap.
The viffer is in semi-retirement now. I got a new '13 Tiger 800XC in march for the long distance trips (heading to Labrador/Newfoundland this August on it)
I was in Bakersfield last June when the VFR's radiator started leaking (decade's old ding finally gave way was my diagnosis). Fortunately some Stopleak fixed the problem (better living through chemistry), but in the process I discovered that new replacement radiators were no longer available. I already knew that waterpumps are also no longer on the shelves (they are a wear item). The bike's reliability has never been much of an issue (r/r fickleness notwithstanding) but with the age, mileage, and now parts supply concerns, I won't venture too far from home with it. I don't want to be in the middle of a month long trip and find myself stuck for 2 weeks trying to scrounge fix-it parts off of ebay.

It is really weird looking at a 4 figure odo reading

While on Newfoundland, you should visit the small islands off
Newfoundlands south coast called St. Pierre et Miquelon. A quick ferry ride from Newfoundlands south coast. Then you can say you were in France. It is actually part of France.

There should be another "1" to the left of those numbers. Taken during our annual Septemeber ride. This was one of the spots we stopped. This is the view point at Mount St. Helen's. Pictures simply does not do this area any justice. The view is absolutely awe inspiring.
