I Fucking bought an old Harley!

After all these cooling issues, Blow cap- bleed out. New cap added coolant etc. I went for a ride on the VFR today and came home to re-adjust the brake and clutch levers and added a cell phone case to the bars. Went to start it and nothing at all. The lights came on, but I did not hear what I think is the fuel pump wizzing. Lights, flashers, display all worked except the horn. Kick stand up kill button off and still nothing. I did see that I could not get the gear indicator to work. I tried to jump it NOTHING changes. Fuck bike this year. It comes in threes right? I think that I will take a cash advance off of my credit card to pay down the balance so I can put the bitch on cycletrader.

I have not talked to Honda since it just happened. I don't get what is wrong now. When you turn the key on don't you see the display light up , Tach needle go back and forth an hear something engaging? I did not touch anything but park it and play with the handle bars. Fuck me!

 

Now I am watching the Saints and Vikings and loving me some beer! Need to take my mind off the pain In the ass!

Check the battery connections. Could have gotten loose, not charged as well, and now needs a bit of a charge.

 

There is a possible cause, check wiring to right switch assembly, loss of power to kill switch will kill everything.

You have blown the fuse. Replace fuse and try again. Horn and brake lights are on same circuit as kill switch and starter button.

I think BB mentioned that the Harley dealerships in the US were doing specials on last summers assless chaps.

 

Would be far cheaper going to Ann Summers same effect apparently.

If you'd bother reading the threads its been identified and sorted.

 

Nothing sorted out yet. I was too pissed off and watched football all night. I went to look at it tonight when I got home tonight and the ballast is out in my garage lights. So another thing. I am going to take the day off on Thursday and have a day at it since the dealers are open and closed on my normal day off (Monday). I don't know what I did to get this kinda Karma this year.

I did look at the bars that I was trying to adjust and I think that I may have crimped the wires on the starter switch side. Maybe caused a short and blew the fuse. This may explain why everything but the starter and the horn don't work (wires on the switch and fuse that controls both.) Thank you all that pointed these possibilities out to me. I truly hope that this is my error, because if not I really do not have the confidence in the bike anymore being a year old. I will sell it if I can if it is a failed something that I did not cause.

In 11yrs of ownership of my Suzuki Sv1000s I never had anything go wrong - Electrical, Cooling system, Engine etc. In fact all of my bikes even used when I bought them had no problems at all ever. Suzuki, Kawasaki mainly. This is my second Honda product if you count my 1984 Honda 125 Elite (grace jones- adam ant scooter)

 

A.M. thanks! Loud pipe it does have! But as far as surviving the eclipse that was just the beginning, shit was to follow in sept according to the source that I read of the coming to an end! And we had 2 hurricanes. Earth quakes and wild fires will follow according to the source but that already happened as well. ;-)
