Small technical question, If I may:

Is it possible to remove the little cap on top of the middle top yoke nut:

I want to install a RAM mount ball, like this:

Cool. Thanks. I find this forum a little hard to search because of the various gens and models discussed here. Is there a link somewhere to download an electronic copy of the service manual?

    Cheers,

    Fly

OK, my take on white wheels, after 2500 km of ownership:

Tried kerosene and shop towels for the rear wheel. Did so-so job. Then, today, after a week of nice weather, had the idea of spraying the wheels with S100 cycle cleaner and scrubbing them with the sponge that came with the bottle of S100. Almost magic. A little bit of work, but they came out very well:

So, not an impossible job. And I do run a Pro-Oiler, which messes things up even more. I think the white wheels looks so good they're worth the extra time spent cleaning.

That's only f spokes which have a nice wide recess in the back of the spokes. The eight spoke recess is a lot tighter. Spent probably 3/4 hour just on the wheels today/ If you don't get into the nooks and crannies each and every time, the comers get so grunged up you may not be able to clean them.

BTW. WD40 works superb in removing grease and oil spots on your wheels. Just be careful with that stuff around the rotor and brake pads.

Did you ever work out that issue about removing that cap from the headstay bolt? Or whatever that thingy is called.

Yes I did. It is a very cheap plastic cap that can be popped out using a sharp blade. Don't be afraid to break it, must be worth $2 tops, even at a stealership:

Got it out and replaced it with a ram mount ball:

Great looking bike, I'm partial to the white as well. I REALLY like the Givi cases, how they are white/black as opposed to all white like the OEM luggage on mine... great choice!

Awesome. I was always disappointed that here in the USofA we couldn't get that white/black scheme. I did however put white bags on my 07 Anniversary model. [IMG][/IMG]

Yes, when i bought my VFR, las October, I was kind of disappointed the panniers weren't OEM, but now, I'm very happy with them and the looks. The PO had the good idea to disassemble the Givi lids and spray the white sections himself, with the resulting looks. Those pannier also have integrated LEDs that repeat braking and turn signal lights. I really like that, so I won't be hunting for OEM panniers. I really lucked out when I found this machine on kijiji!

Hey, I like the integrated pannier lights! How much did you pay your assistant to stand on the brake lever?
