    Sammich, What are the last 6 numbers on your VIN tag? Looks like none were built after August 2014 with something in the 450 count were produced. Not many at all I would say.

    Interestingly, UK (or is that Euro) plates are different and translate like this...

    VIN.jpg

    J = manufactured in Japan (actually in Japan - e.g. CBR600Fs were built in Italy and have a different code here)
    H = manufacturer code for Honda Japan
    2 = motorcycle (not quad-bike or lawnmower!)
    RC79 = model code for Gen8
    A = version code for 2014 Euro version
    4 = algorithm-calculated check digit
    E = code for year of manufacture 2014
    K = plant code for Kumamoto, Japan
    002355 = manufacturer’s serial number in range for year

    so no month/year of manufacture for us. The other figures refer to compliance with emissions and noise testing regs.

    000071 is my last 6. Based on the VINs world wide, it seems like they may have only made 5000 worldwide with at least half those going to Europe.

    Mine is 46 and date of manufacture is 3/14. I sort of ordered it sight unseen.

    Also, if anyone is interested #119 or 114 (Baby was in a corner I couldn't read it very well) white deluxe is a the Honda House in Pittsbugh.

    Anecdotally I'd say the demand is actually quite high for a sport touring bike. I already see more people here on the forums riding the 8th gen than the 1200s, and the magazines have been routinely praising the bike. I myself would buy one in a heartbeat if I had the money.

    Sweet, I like this thread. was wondering how the 014 vfr took off. Personally I'd have a 014 if it made sense financially, great bike, way better than the 1200 imo. I ended up with a sweet deal on a 5thgen. The dealer here still has the bike I test rode last summer. Now this thread gets me to want to go check that vin # just because.
