Billy maybe you can answer a couple of questions about Scotts and these type of filters. I read some time back that the stainless reusable systems did not filter down to the same level as traditional disposable, BUT recently I read about the way that they test is different. The Scotts and Flo Oil for instance filter to 30 and 35 microns while a majority of the paper ones are 20 microns. The difference is that paper comes up with their number from a 3 pass test and the stainless is a 1 pass test. The stainless supposedly flows a lot faster too. Found this on a quick search.

"The FLO Oil Filters are rated on an absolute (1 pass) system. Because of the inconsistencies of paper, they are rated on a multi pass system that allows particles 3 times the rated size (i.e. 60 microns) to pass once. What that means is a 35 micron stainless filter usually filters better than a 20 micron paper filter."

That's how I understood it as well, when I started using PurONE filters on my bikes. I think the bypass PSI differs because of the difference in strength of the oil pump; as I am on top of my oil changes and live in a warm clime, I've accepted the risk of the bypass PSI being too high.

Also it's kind of cool that I can use the same oil filter on my two Honda bikes and Honda Fit.

Seems to me I am using excellent stuff, the Napa Platinum $9 when on sale,is designed for syn oil, I use the biggest one that fits-took the carbon canister off makes the changing of filter much easy. As soon as you throw a socket on the K+N -it will dig into the metal. No reason to use this K+N filter on anything. Also make note some filters have a steel shell too thin and can fail. the Walmart ST is too thin shell metal. No reason to have all these problems. I do question the use of purculator pure 1 may actually filter too well-might not be best for a high RPM bike-may slow up the oil flow too much

One micron is 2.54 gnats arses.
Always use this as the conversion number.

The solution to the conversion may be that OZ gnats are metric.

I think my first failure was near 3 years ago. Wrote them and eventually got a response. They wanted to see the filter. Sent it to them, no reply. Wrote again and they sent me a new 204. The next time I got no reply to my email. They know and don't seem to care.

SOW likes butt plugs just second to his shemales attentions. I claim first dibs on being numero uno. I hope Donald Trump doesn't fire me.

This is not a plug for Donald Trump. Then again, he may have tastes we don't know aboot.
