Thanks for all the suggestions. I got on the Bluestreak web site and found the Abba stuff. I'll be ordering one soon.

I've had my abba superbike stand since 97 & its used weekly on 3 different bikes.

It is a great bit of kit but I'm going to spec up to the Sky Lift as I want to work at my height & not 6 inches off the floor.

Once you get it you'll be mad at your self for not getting it sooner. I still work 6 inches off the ground, more due to laziness than anything. How else are you gona do steering hesd bearings securely?

Where did you get it? That seems high according to their web site.

I did not have a center stand on my 2003 Suzuki Sv1000s. So I bought a lift like you are talking about. Universal really about $65-$110. All you have to do is look for the what I call "Stand hubs" I know I am wrong on the wording, but this bike has a single swing arm. Just google it and see what comes up. Honestly, I remember that for the set of the racing stand and hubs I paid what I did to get the OEM center stand and have it installed on the VFR. I found that the aftermarket stand was a pain in the ass and gave me some scary moments getting the bike up on it and it only weighed 417lbs not 500 +! Downside for all of us is that a center stand adds extra weight, and I did have a center stand come up on me on my old 95 Kawasaki GPz 1100 in a tight corner with a change in elevation that was a safety issue for me! And scared the shit out of the other two riders behind me witnessing it riding tight at 70+. I guess that incident will have me checking the spring tension on the center stand more often on the new VFR for sure. If you change your mind about getting the OEM center stand do not buy it from Honda. I have seen OEM stands on sale online from other sites including EBAY around $80 and like I bought and paid the Dealer $90 to install. Good luck!

Are we talking about the same model? Don't be fooled by Ducati, only difference are the pins that go into pivot bolts.

Watch their video on how it goes together, make sure you put the kickstand up before final lift. I can't imagine some $65-$100 lift doing what this lift does safely. With nearly 600 pounds up in the air, stabilty is paramount.

Excellent piece of kit, I bought mine several years ago for working on my Ducati which only has a sidestand, but I later bought a set of VFR pins for my 6th gen and they fit the 8th also, and I've now added the front lift arm as well. I wouldn't be without it. Mine came direct from Abba because they're less than 20 miles from where I live!

And they're now crossing the pond - http://abbastandsusa.com/

I have no connection to the company, by the way, other than owning some of their excellent kit.

I recently obtained front and rear Pit Bull stands. The front I use goes into the triple tree holes, or it can be converted to go under the forks. I got them mainly to hold the bike properly and SAFELY to get the front wheel off. In your case, it would help you with the rear wheel not having a center stand.

Pit Bull stands are a must have IMO. I wish I would have had them years ago. They're solid, hold the bike totally solid, and are quality built with zinc plating. No paint to end up looking like shit later on. They're easy to sell. Great design better than the rest. Their welds are amazingly high quality. FWIW.

Used them yesterday for an oil change. Gets the bike up higher making it easier to get to things. How did I do without them?......worse.

    Well I got the Skylift...

& it lasted 1 week before I started to modify it - lol

Basically I hot glued some rare earth magnets to certain areas of the stand.. I would have used epoxy if I didn't have the glue gun.

The magnet on the Jack Arm is for holding the Jack handle out of the way - I dont have the foot kit.
Magnets on the 2 arms are for holding the 'specific bike bits' to the arms so I dont have to worry about a dropped bit.
The magnet at the top of the main post is for the allen key & Jack Lock Off Pin.

Yes that's the lift I have - although the cbr400 is using it at the moment.

    It works perfectly.

Thanks! I'm really thinking about ordering it, but according to their site it won't lift a Kawasaki Concours -- my other bike. I'll shoot them an email to confirm
