Yep, bought another one. 1986 VFR750F. Odo says 38,xxx. Been sitting for 4 years outside. With title, $500. Did come with seat cowl. Rear taillight cowl not cracked. Right lower nearly perfect. Tank is faded but no dents or dings. Original key.

It does have some damage on the left from a low side, not terrible. It is pretty weathered from sitting outside. Can't get the gas cap open yet, I am continuing to soak the lock. Pretty sure I am going to harvest parts and sell some perhaps. There are many parts I need for my next project. This picture is very flattering. I really bought it for the titled frame.

When I was looking it over prior to purchase I noticed it was a Cali bike. No big deal. Last night I had some time to look at it a little closer. The 750cc engine doesn't have the air ports on the front head. So at some point it got a 49 state 750 engine. Could be cool. I will try to start it off of a aux tank, but I am very certain I will have to clean the carbs. No big deal, I will completely rebuild them, re-install to run and listen, then remove and have them ready for another bike. Later I will remove the valve covers and do an inspection.

Any way, what the fuck am I doing? I have a problem. Just couldn't let this slip away. Too many good parts.

Oh yeah, you've made an investment. $500 !? I'd have bought it, too.
How did you happen upon that deal ?

Looks good from here, except the seat. But 4 years sitting does a bike no good.

Showed up on Craigslist. Took him a couple days to respond, I thought it was gone. He was weird to deal with and didn't seem interested in honoring any kind of first right of refusal. He was originally going to have everyone who responded just show up at the same time, but I was able to make the deal on a weeknight.

Well, the other side is ground off pretty good, but yeah, the right showing is worth a fair portion of the purchase price. The taillight cover has zero cracks too, so that's cool. And the right lower you see is nearly perfect.
