    Hey Guys,

I'm talking to the sales guy at this dealership in Washington, checking to see what shipping would cost to get the bike down to me in Southern California...
    https://www.i-90motorsports.com/def...1&make=honda&s=Year&d=D&fr=xPreOwnedInventory

I asked about bags, and aftermarket parts (other than the slip on)... Sales guys said he's get back to me with answers and a lowered price from advertised after he gets a quote on shipping cost. He said since I'm out of state I would not have to pay Washington sales tax, and it's over 7500 miles so I can register it in CA without an issue. This is the 3rd VFR1200 I've looked seriously at. The second one I posted here and got some great feedback that made me lower my offer and eventually walk away (a 2010 with 20k miles and lots of mods for $6900). I'm nervous about buying it just off of photos but the dealer seems reputable. I have ridden a VFR1200F with bar risers and a Corbin seat and I loved it.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks!

I am not a fan of black bikes, and I don't know beans about the 1200's.
But this looks really clean. According to the listing, the bike is CARB compliant anyway, so not sure what the mileage would matter. Must be a CA thing about used vs. new?

I'll bet it sounds a bit throaty with that carbon canister.... Hope it works out for you!

Are you a member of VFRD? Late last year (I last PM'ed him around September), StockJock (member name) was selling his 2012 VFR1200. - non DCT, Blue. Chicago area. Original owner. At the time, he advised that there were no scratches, never been laid down or tipped over. 6794KM (yes KM) on the odometer. Heated garage kept. Pictures looked Really Really Good and he said he'd be willing to take $6450 USD! I was really really tempted to buy it but at the time, the wife unit put her foot down and said I couldn't buy it unless I sold my 2015 first. He mentioned storing it for winter and looking at selling again in the spring. I think it's definitely worth contacting him about!

Btw, my understanding about the 7500 miles import thing is that if the bike has a 50 state emissions sticker, it can have less than 7500 miles on it.

FWIW, I bought my 2015 VFR800 used from a dealership in Illinois and shipped it to LA via HaulBikes - https://haulbikes.com/ .

Cool. Thanks for the data point.. I'm negotiating with him now. No luggage or any mods other than the exhaust. I offered 6300, he is now at 6750. I could probably get it for $6500 but I don't think that is much of a deal. Pretty sure it needs tires, I def want the bags ($1000), to do the seat ($400), some bar risers ($100) maybe a new wind screen. After shipping, CA sales tax when i register it and all the mods I want... Could be pushing $9k total cost and f*ck that noise. I left my 6300 offer standing. I'm not in a big rush and will keep looking.

And no... not a member of VFRD... Thanks for the tip though.
