Got the SW Motech Contour racks installed over the weekend. Mounting system is nowhere near as elegant as factory panniers, but not bad for an aftermarket system. Very solid construction and easily removed. I also bought the locking knobs for a bit of security. The right side just hits the top of the TwoBro M4 can. Looks like all it will take is shortening it by a couple of inches. I'll probably cut it down 4-5" just to be sure.

I don't use panniers very often, but when I do I prefer good size ones. Top rack will carry a Givi V46 most of the time and switch to E55 for the occasional 3-4 day weekend tours.

Still debating whether I should paint the bags matching red or the silver trim color.

I just purchased a set of Kappa K33n side luggage with removable racks for 455 bucks shipped and quite happy with them. From what I know, Kappa another name under Givi and their stuff is basicly the samething. They're 33 litters instead of the 35 litters offered from Givi but because of it's smaller size, it doesnt stick out as much. Check them out..... Kappa Valige Rigide Laterali K33n Nero | MotoStorm I also have one coupon code for 20 euros off my next purchase if any1 need it.

Not sure which SW Motech rack you are talking about, Dave. AFAIK, they make two:

    The Contour carrier: SW-MOTECH Quick-Lock Sidecarrier (Honda VFR1200F '10-) Contour Carrier for Givi V35 PLX cases - VFR1200F '10-'12 - Honda - Shop by Bike - TwistedThrottle.com

    The EVO carrier: SW-MOTECH Quick-Lock EVO Sidecarrier (Honda VFR1200F '10-) - VFR1200F '10-'12 - Honda - Shop by Bike - TwistedThrottle.com

Both of those links have plenty of pics showing from every angle. The pics I posted above are of the Contour (below left), plus the SW-Motech Alu Rack with a GIVI Monokey top case adapter. I have not seen or read about anybody that have bought the EVO rack. IMO they don't really fit with the lines of the VFR1200. Only reason might be if you already have "slab-sided" panniers from another bike.

There is, of course, GIVI's own side racks, which are not quick release: Givi Tubular Sidecase Racks (Honda VFR1200F 2010) for PLX sidecases only - VFR1200F '10-'12 - Honda - Shop by Bike - TwistedThrottle.com
