    Excellent pics

To summarise if I've read your post correctly.

To use a Gen 4 kit on a Gen 3 bike all you have to do is loose a bit of plastic that is hidden by the seat wehn fitted and change the rear peg fittings to bolts.

Well done to you, but why couldn't Givi have worked that out!!!!

It would have saved me about 3 weeks fannying about doing essentially exactly what you have done!!!!

Still if mine drops off next mont I know how I'm going to fix it

I have a complete Gen 3 factory GIVI mount set up if someone is still searching for the correct part. $250.00 complete for 3 bag set up with wing rack and top base and mounts. Might need a bolt or 2.

For scale purposes it's nearly the same size as an SD memory card. I would have put mine in the pic to give comparison but it was needed in the camera.

thanks for the pic guess with the seat on you won't even notice the piece missing if you remove the mounting kit and wingrack.

I really lucked out on this deal. The fitting kit cost me 70+ 10 for shipping (ebay), the rack cost me $40 and I traded some soft bags for the hard bags. It's good to have good friends.

there are deals out there, you just have to be in no hurry and snap them up when they show up. the gen 3 kit that SLOVFR is offering sounds reasonable (it is close to what you paid) and it has the unobtainium gen 3 kit that requires no cutting.

For as popular as the givi bags are, there are people that don't like them. some times they come with a bike. they can be large and unwieldy (I will have to remember not to lane split with mine on), some think they're ugly and detract from the bike. those are the people you wanna talk to and try not to convince them other wise.

Well I would love to see a couple of pics of that setup. I just bought an original Wingrack from a guy who totaled his 97. I went to mount it on my 1995 VFR and noticed I was missing some pieces that I think went to the rear subframe. If I can see where it attaches I am sure I can make some brackets that will work.
