I had one of those wingless magnetic tank bags once. I had it on my SR500. On my way to Wal*Mart one day it vanished. At least I was not on the way home with my stuff from Wal*Mart. That could for some be as traumatic as losing a pet Chihuahua.

B6_Dolphin and Nelix, Thank You for the information, links and photos. The more I look, read and listen the more these bags seem to be worth the dollars.

Does anyone know if somebody makes those gas cap attachements that will work on milk crates? I am caring more aboot functionality than style. Milk crates also present less drag than tankbags and tend also to break big bugs into smaller chunks at speed.

Don't slip too far down the functionality-over-style chute, William. This is eventually where you end up (note: crate slats too big to chop up anything less than chickens):

Just in case anyone in the peanut gallery is confused as to the true identity of the dude on the scooter. That is not me! Sources which must remain unnamed inform me that is actually "Gaytor Greg" prior to the purchase of his VFR.

I sort of like the stacking feature of milk crates but at the ton I think maybe a couple of bungees might be a good idea and keep the chickens in the one on the bottom.

I think so too. The milk crates in the pic are for 2%.

I believe the one I have is chase harper also. I know it's a guy in Cali anyway as I saw him at Laguna Seca and traded in some cheap bag and he gave me a good deal on a ruggedly built magnetic tank bag with clean lines that doesn't seem to move around with wind at all.
