    These look like EMGOs

These appear to be EMGO condom mirrors - same you can get nearly anywhere. I've got them on mine, and while they are pretty much the same as stock, the condoms are too short, so you can never have them secured at the ball joint below the mirror and at the base at the same time - it's either one or the other. I even had EMGO replace them the first time because I figgered it had to be a mistake - but the second set was exactly the same, and EMGO said that's just the way they make them.

    Targa mirrors

The Targa mirrors that everyone keeps mentioning are WAY too short for the 4th gen. I had to make up some pretty big spacers to put under them and I still have to tuck my elbows in to see anything behind me. Not safe.

    Or convenient.

HELL, the stockers are too short to see anything but your elbows,
    plus those damn undersized condoms!

Plan to cough up the $$$ for longer, bare stalked ones when ready to do that upgrade... wanna' pay for the 1st round of new stuff when the bill arrives before moving on to "Toy Buying, Round Two!"

Just bringing a thread back from the grave, as I now have F4i mirrors on the 5th gen. woot woot. To do this though, one needs the 2000-01 base mounts.

The mirrors that RVFR has are the same as the Genuine Honda ones I put on my 94 - had to buy base rubber and socket head bolts but perfect fit and rubber free.

Yep, I just had to go with what I had on the 4th gen, funny thing about those details, only thing was in my thinking I had 2000-01 mirrors all along, Nope, F4i. IMO just a cleaner look. Good eye there thx1138, yes, those are genuine factory Honda mirrors, I also find when using the part number 88110-MBW 013 or super seeded to 023 these are also the ones used on the RC51 and possibly the 954. One still needs the lower mounts off the 2000-01 nothing else fits that bolt spacing, you just use the same pivot mounting bolt with the 4 washers and bingo.

Just for the sake of this thread here is a comparison with the 2000-01 mirror

For the people who have upgraded to the 00 or 01 mirrors on their fourth gen bikes does the upgrade help the rearward vision. I know with my 95, the condom mirrors afford me a pretty good view of my elbows when the mirror head isn't self adjusting.

From memory I get better vision.
I used to see a fair bit of elbow and now see a fair bit of road instead.

The rear ward sight view all depends on some other factors. line of sight angle will change with you in where your head is at. No kidding right? For me To see directly behind me I have to see about a 1/4 of my arm. Some probably prefer to look more towards the woods or ditch, which IMO doesn't let one look right behind em. personal choice on ones part. As a basic I sit as I do and adjust accordingly, since the mirror square inch area is the same and the mirrors are not convex nothing really changes in the view. The F4i mirrors I installed are about a 1/4 to 1/2 an inch narrower. My view isn't any worse off.

Just installed my 5th gen mirrors on my fourth gen. Much better rearward view and the mirrors are no longer self adjusting. IMG_4266.jpg IMG_4268.jpg
