Mt. Rainier Rd Trip "Taste of Mt. Rainier" Official Thread

My system upgrade at work that was supposed to occur this weekend just was postponed, so if I can take care of things on the home front, I am going to try and meet up at Marblemount at 10:30 (which means I have to leave my house by 5:15-5:30...ughh). At this point I am not going to worry about a hotel room until I know for sure. If they are filled in Leavonworth, there are a bunch of cheap dive motels within a 30 minute drive from there.

I'll post back later this evening and let you all know one way or another.

I'll see you all on Saturday at 10:30 at the Marblemount gas station with the big red caboose.

I tried on three occassions to book here and each time I was told I had to book a minimum of two days. I think I am going to go to their front coounter there Saturday night and raise some supreme shit.

I am thinking that because it is so close to the weekend and they had not filled all their rooms for the entire weekend (there were only a handful of rooms left), then they start letting them go for a single night instead of two only. My procrastination finally pays off

 

it might be closer to 11am for us by the time we cross boarder so if were not there at 10:30 it means were still on our way.

so far confirmed for canadian side meeting spot is kingsley, JS, Randy, Chomper for 7:30. if anyone else is meeting at Tim horton sumas way south side of freeway let us know other wise we should head straight for the boarder line up.

Greetings all who participated in this great ride. Just wanted to drop a quick line that I made it home safely after we parted company. Hwy 12 was a very pretty drive even if I did see five cops...lucky I was stuck behind some cars at the time. Hope the rest of your trip went well also.

It was truly my pleasure to meet all of you (and see you again, Randy) and as the saying goes, we'll have to do it again some time!

Total mileage for me was 812 (518 on Sat., 294 today). Canadian conversion = 1307 km total, 833 Sat, 473 Sun)

Thanks all of you for the ride. It was great seeing you again Kevin. It was nice to see that you actually rode that fine red piece of machinery instead of googleing at it in your garage the way you were when you hosted me earlier this year.

It was fine to meet those three from VFRD. They sure kicked up their heels and had a great time. They must do that when they get out and let loose with all those pent up emotions they cannot release on their site.

I will post up some pix soon as I get a Photbucket account. Chomper assures me this is the way to go.

Morning of Day 2

We put the bikes on a big boat and off to Germany we went... (Leavenworth, WA)






We had lunch at the famous Whistlin' Jack's...
