I put about 500 miles on my VFR before the battery died on me mid-ride. I just installed a voltage meter (my first farkle!) to keep an eye on the voltage.

Also, the tires were 3 or 4 years old on my bike. They had decent tread, but were terrible. Like, literally dangerous. I couldn't replace them fast enough. I put a new set of Continental Road Attacks on and they are awesome. Very stable, warm up quickly, etc. They're said to last a good while, too. I highly recommend them. They were pretty affordable, too, as tires go. I got both tires on the bike for $270.

Man that is a clean 97, but 4k - DAMN!!!! It is clean and looks great and low mileage but damn 4k!!!!!!. The low mileage makes it worth it I guess, but damn!!!!! I am spoiled because I bought my 2k VFR last December for $3500.00, and it is clean but had some miles on it. Good luck and enjoy the bike - good luck beating all the gorgeous women away who want to ride on such a great looking bike!!!!!.
