New member considering purchase

Hi all,
I am considering purchase of a 2014 VFR 800. Prior owner reports bar risers installed. They look like about 1/2 to 3/4 inch. I found the bars to feel still too low and more weight than I might like on my hands. The bars also felt fairly narrow. While considering fit, the foot pegs felt high and close to me. I didnt get to fool with the seat. I understand there are some adjustments there.I am about 5'9". I see many taller riders making this bike work. Maybe I can get used to it but what other products are available that may help? I have not seen anything mentioning wider bars nor peg adjustments or changes. Thanks in advance.

 

I have a 2014 VFR 800. I'm 5' 9". I've dealt with the issues you have raised except the "narrow" bars. I find my setup very comfortable for both short & long rides.
I've added MotoPump .95" risers and Knight Design lowering footpegs. I put the seat front in the high position and the rear in the low position which reduces sliding towards the tank. Other comfort changes I've made are grip puppies, Pazzo levers, Puig touring screen and rider seat Cool Cover.
I my case I don't find the bars to be too narrow. I find the steering to be light and controllable with the stock bars (each to his own).
The final thing I would add is that at 5' 9" I can easily flat foot the bike which is comforting.

Well, I made the purchase. Love so much about the bike. Riding position is def aggressive. Thanks again to dlegg for pointing me in the right direction on the handle bars. Seems there are options out there as well as peg lowering. My seat is int he high position. I will lower that, give the whole thing a chance and move to pegs and bars if needed. Looking forward to getting to know the bike.

So which version of the 8th Gen is it? The North American market got two versions a standard and a deluxe - other countries only got the deluxe version. The most obvious difference was only the deluxe had a main stand fitted as standard.
