The 1100's will do 100mph easy. The newer one's are even faster.

I'm thinking this dude maybe should just get a bicycle or put a ticket lawyer on retainer..

What's the point in having a slow motorcycle, ? Just to get run over by a fast truck?
I don't think VFR's are set up right from the factory-you have to do that yourself!:fencing:

I am trying to justify my VFR and an ST1300 in the garage at the same time. I really like them both.

As many times as your bike has not been upright, I tend to agree.

Have you considered selling the garage?

Scuba is a straight shooter, he will not ball it up. As far as you not letting anyone test-ride a bike, I respect that, but as a buyer, I want to put the agreed money on your hand, cash, and take it for a test ride before signing on the doted line. I need to make sure there are no issues, or be okay with the issues, regardless how pristine the bike looks. Just bought a ninja 250 last month for my nephew with 30 miles on it, I still took it for a spin.
No test-ride after I hand over the money? No deal.

I remember maybe ten years ago now, I was selling a GSXR1000 and the kid kept bugging me to test ride it. It was two years old probably had 5-6k miles on it and was immaculate, and I said absolutely not take it or leave it. He bought it, jumped on it and dropped it going out my driveway. If its a deal breaker for you I couldnt care less. :smile-new:

Why not let someone test ride with cash in hand? If you're asking $5K, and someone puts $5K in your hand and wants to ride, let them go. I guess if you wanted to be real protective, you could draw up an agreement for a Pre-Bill of Sale. Something along the lines of "its agreed and understood that Joe Schmoe is test riding this bike and me as the seller is holding onto his $5K. In the event the bike is damaged during said test run, regardless of the scope of damage, I get to keep all his money and the bike will be transferred to Joe Schmoe for the full amount of the $5,000 received".

Obviously you'd be a bit more descriptive with that.

The only risk in saying no is not selling the bike and I can live with that. Like I said, when you see it first hand, you will change your mind, I gaurantee it.

I would not let a stranger test-ride my motorcycle. I don't even ride with people I don't know when they are on their own motorcycles! So, I understand SDVFR1's POV.

I let Reg ride mine the first time I met him. He was a stranger then and I think even more stranger now that I know him. He was trying to make the rear wheel kick out on it when the V-tech kicked in. To disprove some issue people were talking about back when the Vteck first came out. He told me that afterward. I was following along on Scratch.

While the wife and I were gone for a 7 week vacation, I had my son get hold of someone he tructed to take the bike out for a ride a couple times. I don't like letting things sit too long. But his circle of friends and associated know what I used to do and understand I can likely stilll make them do the chicken if they fuck up.

Otherwise, I would not let a complete stranger take mine out for a test ride unless I was following along on anothe bike and I had the camabilities to remotely kill the power. Too many idots and thieves out there.

Hey. But go ahead. Who gives a rats ass what others think of why you are selling. Sell it. Someone will enjoy riding it.

Even the sun shines on a dog's ass.
Go buy a scooter, feel the air in your vagina.
