Whats up Everyone?! Very excited about my "new" 04 Interceptor. Its got 5500 miles and I just did my first oil change (Valvoline 10w 40 full synthetic). I also put on the new Dunlop Q3's (which I'm very happy with by the way) and I'm now trying to get connected and plugged in with local riders. Wednesday nights we have bike night at our local Hooters so I'll def be hitting that. I really like my new helmet. Its got everything that I was looking for. Its a V-can, mat black with built in sun visor and blue tooth and its modular. Any advise or encouragement you all can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome aboard. If you havn't already done so post up a picture of your bike, some people here are a bit touchy about that, otherwise they are mostly a friendly, helpful bunch.

In fact...I have dropped or it has found a way to get horizontal more times than any bike I have owned, and I have owned plenty over my years. lOOk on ebay for mods just type in 2004 Honda Interceptor and you will find all kinds of goodies :love-struck:

Welcome aboard, dude. Who cares about your bike; pictures of FL Hooters girls are mandatory!

Note the 2002 to 2005? 06? models had a wiring harness recall issued on them. You should be able to call any Honda dealer or Honda direct, give them your VIN, and they can tell you if it was done.

Welcome aboard. And if at Hooters, welcome onabroad. JK. I am always amazed at peeps here finding bikes that are almost 10 years old with such low mileage. But what that means is you will get many more years out of your new to you ride.

The 06 did not have the wiring issues but yours should be checked out. Like Pliskin says, just get your VIN and call a dealership. They can check to see if you bike has had its re-call done on the wiring harness. You can't loose. There should be no cost to you on this but the potential for damage to your bike is substantial if you don't take the effort to check.

Yup, you guys are Gurus. My 04 (bought off of Ebay in 2012) had 5200 miles on it. The guy that I bought it from was not aware of the 'Recall, but I was because I had done the research. I called Honda, and yes my bike had 2 recalls; my local Powersports dealer took care of both, No Charge. I have put @ 8K on the bike since then. And I am looking forward to many more miles adding up.

P.S. the Original/1st Hooters is down the street from my Job in Clearwater & Wing House built a store within 500ft of that.

Welcome Josh, you doing something like this? Since these pictures I've added a bit more led's on the left side to hightlight the rear shock and on the right to brighten the pipe a bit more. I have my led's on a remote key fob and have a bit of fun with people when they are walking by or stop to take a look at the bike. Post up a picture when you get yours finished, preferably surrounded by Hooters girls:boobies7::cheer2:

Welcome aboard, have not been to Hooters in a while. You should ride by Cafe 27 on Thursday Night. Its a cool scene, cruiser people but there are sport bikes too, its a good show on Sunday as they have live music.

Wow, nice Outboard John. I might have to put some over the tires as well.
RideVFR I've heard about Café 27 and eventually I will make it over there (its very close to my house). I've also heard about it being heavily cruiser dominated, but I'm cool with that.

Hey Nice Guy welcome to the forum. I just have one stupid question. Was that Valvoline 10w 40 full synthetic motorcycle specific or was it car oil? Car oil not good for clutch! Like I said, I hope it is just a stupid question.

    Welcome!!!

No its not a stupid question maggot. Being my first bike and all. But yes it is motorcycle oil. Now I'm thinking about doing a coolant change and want to know you all think about engine ice. Being in south Florida we never need antifreeze and the vfr's get so hot I thought this might be a perfect remedy. Any thoughts?
Ridevfr I'll hit you up soon bro.
And I'llget some pics with Hooters girls if its the last thing i do.
