I actually am surprised. If you look at the CBR line they come out with a new model every 2-3 years and this VFR so far has a run of 6 years. Not even taking that into account of all the colors they could've gone with they had to re-use the '06 color? Why not yellow, purple, blue, neon green, or anything to at least make it look different from the '06s? And sorry, those new chrome bar ends ain't gonna cut it!

They are keeping the new v5 bike a secret but I just heard it will be announced between Christmas and Kwanzaa.

I have to admit that this conversation is a bit confusing. I like my VFR. I would most certainly buy another one, so even though the 2009 is not the innovative bike some people wanted and I think Honda is capable of creating, it is still a great bike and hardly a pile of crap. It is one thing to be disappointed, and another to draw the conclusion that the current model is crap.

This bike is sooooo technologically advanced that it's still ahead of its time 7 years later.

I think I just swallowed some vomit after typing that.

Could you imagine a Civic or Accord without a change for 7 years? The VFR is being killed slowly and steadliy by Honda. If they're defense is it's because of sales lagging other models, they have the cart before the horse. No excitement = no sales. Same goes for the ST; it's beyond vanilla.....moldy vanilla.

I think you guys maybe looking at this from the wrong perspective. Maybe Honda got it right, "If it ain't broke don't fix it".

    Maybe:unsure:

I'm OK with it. Honda could re-issue the 5th Gen or even the 4th Gen and the bike would still serve the needs of the niche market that it represents. If you want performance, then you're looking at the wrong bike - that's what the CBR is for. I do like the black. Just my opinion.

did any one else notice that the big 3D badges that say 'VFR' are missing from this bike?

Thats a saving of at least a dollar per side, per bike! not to mention a wieght saving. but then they spent it all on those chrome bar ends..

That is a huge bonus. I love my bike, the longer the generation run the more parts to be had.
